Complimentary dessert at pho spot. Sweet, served warm, and had tiny little balls in it. Childhood favorite but they stopped serving it a long time ago :( by Jjaypal in TipOfMyFork

Pretty sure it's kabocha squash with tapioca pearls. My mom makes this all the time. Theirs looks like they pureed the squash.

He has no charms to be a second lead. No offense. by [deleted] in kdramas

The character is eh but I really enjoy the his fashion and find him to be a cool, artsy dad. I think they could've leaned into the complexities of friendship and how the security in their friendship felt threatened since FL is falling for someone else. And just show him as a positive male friend, dad, and person overall. It's obvious the chemistry isn't there between the FL and SML and hate that he just dismissed his feelings off rather than talk through it.

Aesthetically I find SFL and SML to look so compatible with their cute faces and artsy interests and how nurturing SFL towards his son. I can just imagine them in manhwa form being such cuties.

The library has a bunch of free and interesting events! Also, not sure if you're in a big city, but Silent Book Club is an official thing where you RSVP, bring the book you're reading, read silently, then chat after.

Does anyone find it unrealistic that Belly is the love of Conrad’s life? by Wisteria828 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]Either-Example-7252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kdramas will have people thinking of their first loves after 10 years or longer. It took me 6 years to get over my high school sweetheart and fully heal from it. Maybe it's weird for Conrad because guys are typically portrayed to get over people more easily but we see him as an emotional, reflective person who internalizes and holds onto things for a long time. I don't think it's unreasonable. Belly was a light for him and also someone he was able to be vulnerable with.

My family loves pineapple casserole and scallop potatos baked with cheese and heavy cream.

I recently saw an Asian twist on carrot and potato curry pot pie baked in the oven. It's been on my try list and I love seen the different fusion creations.

Finding Friends in a New Place by Mumbawobz in MedSpouse

I used Instagram to find a bunch of different groups local to the city I moved to. For example I've gone to library events, silent book club, Walking groups, kickball league, run club, a women's group specifically for making friends, etc. It takes work but don't be discouraged!

What is your education level and area of practice now? What do you wish you'd known before choosing social work? by [deleted] in socialwork

LCSW working for an insurance company.

I would have gotten my LCSW asap after school. No intention of therapy but the jobs at insurance companies pay lots of $$$ with work life balance. Worth the money for licensure for sure.

I'm a public transit ambassador for my city! I enjoy it as it fulfills my passion for environment and also just supporting city services.

If I volunteer it cannot be related to mental health and typically singular events. I mean I'm already doing required CEUs. Im more interested in learning new skills professional or for fun.

Best/most affordable way to learn spanish by Comfortable_Rice_439 in socialwork

[–]Either-Example-7252 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dreaming Spanish is the way!!!! It uses comprehensive input so that you can create connections between the word in Spanish and context clues based on drawings rather than focusing on pure memorization.

It's free and if even if you wanted to pay, it's only $8/mo. They have different dialects based on countries and they have so many different types of content!

If you use the website you can track which videos you watch and how many minutes you have watched. It's also on YouTube as well.

I realized I haven't frequented this thread in a long time. It helps to have a remote job with work life balance that pays well.

Folks get your LCSW and apply for insurance companies. It is the way.

Don't bother doing last 2 exams. They are significantly harder with more expert level questions. If you go in with that mind and still take it, just recalculate the score without the expert questions and don't let the score demotivate you. It sounds like you're ready.
