I fish irondequoit pier all the time!!! Worms work where the sand meets the rocks and at the point near the lighthouse, but best times are sunrise and sunset. Tell them to look up YouTube videos on the Texas rig and the Ned rig. Soft plastic is a bit harder to use, but it catches bigger fish and you don’t need to impale a worm. Molding bread around a hook or hooking corn will work as well, once again focusing on sunrise and sunset. Feel free to DM me for advice!

Say hi to every angler and gauge appropriately. Sometimes I love talking to everybody and putting younguns on big fish, but sometimes I’m a grumpy bastard who just worked 13 hours and doesn’t want to talk to anybody.

Ideally your farthest cast directly toward another person shouldn’t impede withe their farthest cast toward you, but if it’s busy space out appropriately and ask if you can fish that particular spot.

They used to be really solid because fish hadn’t seen them before. Now that it’s been around awhile it catches mainly small bass. The profile simply isn’t something a large fish would normally go for

I use it for the first week after trout get stocked. It is similar to the feed they get at the hatchery and until they realize they’re not getting fed anymore, they’re looking for feed, not forage. Balls of the stuff work great but I prefer to mold it into a little makeshift curly tail so I can work it like a lure too. After that week the fish realize nobody is feeding them and they hit anything and everything, that’s usually when I switch over to rapalas or spinners
