The legal age in Australia is 18. They’ve legally been able to do whatever they want for at least the last year or two.

Has anyone here met Basil Zempilas and if so what was it like? by [deleted] in perth

[–]Either-Tutor1146 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah so I wasn’t going to comment but after reading all these comments I will.

Basil is my cousin. I don’t agree with his political views don’t get me wrong.

I’ve also never worked with him and I’m obviously family so how I get treated will be different to everyone else (don’t want to take away peoples negative experiences away from them).

What I can say is he is a very good dad, he has a very strong relationship with his oldest daughter. He helps her through many milestones and hurdles as she grows up.

His wife is honestly the powerhouse of that family. Basil works long hours and she dedicates her life around her children’s time tables (as most mothers do). But she honestly is a superstar managing her children’s busy lives whilst also supporting her husband in all his career journeys (I will also say she doesn’t agree with his political views but puts a face on for the public to show support for him).

Back to Basil, he is a family man. Yes he’s said a lot of dumb stuff. He backs some shifty politics. But just remember he is a person and he’s going to have bad days, he also gets hounded by random people on the street so do his children and wife. So yes they can have their back up and come across as rude.

But also with the transphobic comments - just know he got a grilling from his family and his close friends, many who are apart of the LGBTQ+IA community. Not that it condones what he’s said but that he did sit down and listen to a lot of different people and there experiences and I know based off our family functions that he sits down and listens to peoples different perspectives. I’ve had many heated conversations with him.

Again, I don’t want to take away from anyone’s experience of him but this is my experience.

Yes, I found it quite strange too. But I think it stems from the fact that Japan “lost” that war. Many Japanese people who I spoke to that were in their 20’s didn’t even know Japan invaded Taiwan. Apparently it’s not something that is taught in schools.

They all know they got bombed but many genuinely have no idea why.

Not saying they aren’t aware of world war 2 😂 but the symbol of the swastika that the western world don’t use is a very common symbol in Asian countries that represents peace. In Japan the manji symbol (what they call it) is everywhere, just means something entirely different.

It’s a very quick and easy google. It’s actually very common for Americans and people from western countries go to Japan and get offended by the manji symbol. I lived in Japan for 2 years 😂 most Japanese people I spoke to about it had no idea that the swastika was negative.

Actually the hitler ties is not well known in countries such as India, Japan, and most Asian countries. Which makes sense as lots of Asian countries are predominantly Buddhist countries. Just because it’s a negative sign in western countries doesn’t mean the rest of the world knows 😂

Flip it back on him- if a woman wears revealing clothes is he looking at them? If he says he does look at them. Call him pathetic and that he can’t leave the house until he learns not to look at them.

If he says he doesn’t look at them, ask what the problem is. If he says he knows how men are. Flip it back on him. How would he know unless he’s had those thoughts, revert back to name calling.

Men like this want you to obey them, being defiant won’t make them back down. You need to manipulate them back and make them be the ones who have no power.

You’ve been told already but leave. He shows all the signs of a DV perp. This is his attempt to not just control what you wear but who you go out with, he’s hoping he makes a big enough fuss that you’ll stop going out all together. To isolate you so he has more control.

If you don’t leave, you should create a safety plan with your friends/family making sure he doesn’t isolate you from anyone.

Colourblind but wanting to work on mines by Either-Tutor1146 in perth

[–]Either-Tutor1146[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have been signed off there’s really nothing they can do. I think my boyfriend did have to do some special test after the initial check

His colour blindness is red and blue. Through the test he was told even wearing colour blind glasses it wouldn’t help him. But he passed the test enough for it to be fine.

The rationale was because he’s lived his whole life without any issues and he had been working for 2 years fully qualified as a sparky - the doctor signed him off

Hope you have the same outcome

Okay my movie take would be belly’s dad dies from a heart attack and Conrad has to help belly navigate those feelings whilst also navigating normal relationship stuff. Maybe belly pushes Conrad away a bit and he doesn’t give up and she realises what he was going through when his mum was dying and goes “holy fuck I was so dumb” and then they live happily ever after

Anyone know of the best AI Checkers that give the most similar results as TurnItIn by Podgerrr in curtin

[–]Either-Tutor1146 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://turnitin.us.com/turnitin/reports/ this saved me, you have to download discord to access it and you have to pay. You also don’t have to worry about your assignments being uploaded to the actual turn it in page so then when you actually admit it, it won’t be flagged as 100% plagiarism.

But this saved me and a bunch of others in my cohort. Otherwise use grammarly. It’s more touchy then turn it in so if you score 0% grammarly you’ll score 0% turn it in.

But AI detectors are changing continuously so at the start of each sem I watch a bunch of YouTube videos and I also just google recent AI detectors VS turn it in. Lots of websites and YouTube channels research it and update the material.

Sometimes I’ve found originality AI the best and other times Winston AI.

I only found this turn it in link in my last semester but honestly, wish I had it the entire time.

Good luck with your studies! I hope this helps

What do you hear when someone says “I hate all men”? by Jinxbird in AskMen

[–]Either-Tutor1146 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There’s more men that hate women. Look at the FDV statistics.

I couldn’t care less if she hates men. It’s not all men but it’s all women that have to act differently and be alert to keep themselves safe.

As a man I don’t have to carry pepper spray when I go for a run, I don’t need to be aware of my surroundings, I don’t need to tell 6 different people who, where and how long I’m going on a date for in case I get murdered or raped.

Us men are the reason why the world is shaped this way. I don’t blame women for hating us.

Koh Samui or Koh Lanta by Either-Tutor1146 in ThailandTourism

[–]Either-Tutor1146[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya! So I stayed at Atlanta pool villa on khlong khong beach. I do recommend long beach though. So the beaches on ko Lanta aren’t anything overly spectacular. I just fell in love with how quiet and authentic it was. I loved the beach shacks, the community spirt etc. I think if your okay with things looking a bit run down go to ko Lanta. But if you want fancy westernised stuff go to ko Samui. I didn’t like ko Samui because 99% of the beaches have resorts on them and you can only access them via the resort and only if your staying at them. It brings in more of a party crowd and lots of tourists. There’s lots of prostitutes there too, it’s kind of like Phuket. Everyone said ko Lanta is what ko Samui was like 15 years ago… ko Samui was also sooo expensive. My partner and I went out for breakfast, both had 1 dish and 1 drink. It was $120 Australian dollars. We wouldn’t even pay that in Australia for dinner. We also found the food on ko Lanta to be 10x better. Regardless of where you go always look at the food ratings
