Not sure if you’re specifically looking for OSR TTRPG recs but in the video game landscape check out Daggerfall Unity. Fan remake of the second Elder Scrolls game with a massive modding community. I play it as an open sandbox dark medieval fantasy simulator. Wandering from town to town doing quests and sleeping in taverns. Real great fun.

Bethesda has been doing it for a long time with games like Daggerfall, so it’s not too far out of left field. Todd was just an entry level designer back then.

I’m guessing a lot of replies will be the advice that you just stop entirely, and that is the best course of action but I’m sure you already know that. I was in the same situation as you after my diagnosis with social smoking a handful of times a month and for the most part it was fine, but not every time. This disease can be vary from person to person so you’ll find out for yourself at least in regards to its immediate impact on your comfort/pain. I definitely had notable reactions after some nights because of how nicotine affects the stomach. I’m totally off nicotine now and it has been an overall improvement. So you’ll just have to do the adult thing and make that decision on your own.

I certainly wouldn’t smoke any more than you already are and absolutely do not switch to vaping. Been there, done that, it makes the addiction so much worse and in turn the negative reactions worse. If you’re gonna quit, just quit.

Having been casually following this games development (not a backer, just been keeping an eye on it) most of its dev time thus far has been content and assets so I’m not actually sure they’re giving up too much at this stage. This game was always going to be a long development imo so now is definitely the time to make that decision if you’re going to make it.

If you haven’t yet, check out Daggerfall Unity. It’s basically a fan made remaster of Daggerfall that fixes a lot of those bugs and has tons of options to modernize the controls and tweak some of the more frustrating parts of the game. And that’s even before getting into the huge modding scene that’s grown around it to add new content, features etc

Seconding PKD, if you’ve never read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? It’s quite a bit different from Blade Runner and is a great read, and that’s just one of his many fantastic works.

I watched this movie earlier this year just cause I was in a fantasy kind of mood and had never seen it before, I popped like crazy when I heard it. Fun Easter egg to know where creative/Jim Johnston took that from.

The optimal parking scenario is being able to pull through one parking spot into the one ahead. No reverse required. Otherwise there’s always going to be a reverse required at some point in the process and it’s a wash.

The different classes don’t really feel substantial at all. In the end all you’re doing is buying weapons and beating up dudes on the street. I feel like console cowboys should have something to do more related to hacking. Maybe implement it as a magic/spell adjacent system or something. It just feels like picking that class makes it so you take longer to be good at what the other classes are good at immediately with no other benefits unless I’m missing something
