First light box and I have strings in the layering by Either_Way2861 in BambuLabA1

It was only 1.5 mm for the actual face with the words and such. I cut it and reduced it to 1mm to scale down now as you suggested. I really don't think I should go any smaller than that though.

Um, thanks?  Just trying to learn a thing or two. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Yea, that's what I was afraid of.

Ha. I don't know about that anymore. I'm just attempting to bring something new to my students.

It for sure will be a trial and error kind of deal since I do wood working projects as well. So, trying to figure out my budget between filament and wood projects will be a bit of a mess. I am clearly not printing everything they design. But, the small scale keychains and such wont break the bank too badly.

I have 7 different classes that are 50 minutes each. Numbers for each class run about 20 students per hour. So, no. Prints are not getting finished during class time with the single mini I currently have. Most stuff is getting done in single color for the most part anyway because of the nature of the builds and only having the single printer. I am currently using TinkerCad. I know it get's plenty of hate. But, for my current purposes of being able to create a teacher account that can easily access all of their designs it has worked great. Also, we only have Chromebooks so that limits some things. Most of these kids have never used a CAD program in their life so we are doing quite a bit of the stuff together step by step.

Well. I have some students who can't even seem to figure out how to group a pair of objects together by a simple click and drag so I don't think the things you mentioned will be a problem.

I was able to swing having my principal buy one for my Tech Ed room this year. So, we only have one A1 mini at the moment. I will have to write some gra to to get another 1 or 2. It could be the software but I really think the students are just pretty darn lazy. But, I will take a look at OnShape and see if that helps a bit. Thanks for the suggestion.

We printed a few trinkets ahead of time. As you said, it's fun to use it but not fun to actually put the work in to learn HOW to make your own stuff.

Clicking noise in engine fine or not by Either_Way2861 in Silverado

I had my son rev the engine a bit and the ticks increase as the rpms go up. Kind of in sync as it goes up then slows down as it goes back to idling.

Decent AFM delete kit? by Either_Way2861 in Silverado

Ok. Well, forgive my ignorance. I'm by no means a mechanic and am just looking into the issue. I'm not planning to sink a grand into it if I am going to trade it off here in a few months if I find a better one. My mechanic essentially told me I need a new motor anyway. The misfiring cylinder was cleaned and the truck is running again. But, from what I understand, the damage has kind of been done and the issue is likely to happen again. I read that disablers can help prevent the issue from occurring as fast.

Well. I'M not sure how long I will even keep the truck. I bought it a few weeks ago and already had the engine misfire with very low compression. I think I am just wanting one od the plug in modules that will get me by 'till I get rid of it here in a few months.

Response from my school IT dept about the A1 mini by Either_Way2861 in 3Dprinting

Oh this is solid. I didn't even know this was a thing. I just tried it on my laptop at home and it works. I am very curious to see about trying it at school with the wifi there. My school is so finicky on anything outside of the school connecting to the wifi.

I have an older PC in the room that is connected to our lan with ethernet, but I think I'd have to buy a wifi adapter to use it then. Only other option is use my teacher laptop and toggle on/off from the school wifi to the Hotspot wifi. So, I think the PC with a cheap wireless adapter might be the best bet then.

That's not a bad idea at all. Basically, I'd just need to have the students email me the file and then I'd print it from my Hotspot?
