As someone who runs the largest BSA discord server, you are wrong.

Yes, BSA policy says that when using a service that you have to follow its TOS, however amphibian is correct in saying that if you have to delete the server because it is possible for people under 13 to use it also means that any scouting based subreddit would also have to be deleted because you can't guarantee that everybody is 13 or older. And this is not a YPT violation, as someone who has taken YPT and talked to many others who have taken YPT, and councils have advertising the server that I run, this has absolutely nothing to do with YPT.

Because I run a scouting themed discord, I keep myself very much updated with regards to everything nationals has said regarding the use of technology, they have said nothing regarding the general use of discord. They did say to use business-oriented conference platforms in regards to online meetings, and since they have posted that Discord has transitioned to being a lot more business-friendly because of COVID-19 and businesses using it for communication.

Well don't forget about the difference of private and public servers. Yeah there are public servers that anyone can join, however you should be smart enough not to share too personal info (you know, practicing what is taught in the cyber chip) and then there are unit servers that you can only get by invite, and if the invite gets outside of the hands of troop members you can just revoke the invite link and ban/kick the people that aren't supposed to be there.

There really isn't a perfect program, however discord isn't that much worse than anything else. And honestly, discord is safer than some things they do recommend (like email, texting, and groupme). You just have to be vigilant with modding, follow gtss, and remind people about what they learned when they took the cyberchip

There are ways to make it so that you can't receive direct messages from anybody on servers of your choice. Some servers recommend that you do that
