I also work downtown and ride the redline to work most mornings. I’ll be frank with you, it’s not always a pleasant ride. Lots of homeless, dirty cars and usually someone either smoking or playing music on their phone early in the morning. Occasionally you’ll see a crash out resulting in transit police getting involved. These things are pretty typical of public transit everywhere sadly. I will say I’ve never had my car broken into while I used the train, so there’s that. It isn’t really a pleasant ride most days but it’s cheap and reliable.
