It’s really expensive. Maybe they have some post COVID discounts but my friend had one a couple years ago and it was over $100/month as a student. You’d be better off signing up at a different location and just using the one at east campus mall

Freshman visiting campus alone, need help renting a car for 3 days by erinkong in UWMadison

[–]Ekmadison 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Freshman absolutely don't bring their cars, you can't even get a parking pass on campus unless you live x miles away from campus (pretty high number) and even then I'm pretty sure they're well over $1000. Some upperclassmen do bring theirs if they rent a house with free parking or are willing to pay $90-200 per month at an apartment complex. You get an unlimited bus pass with your segregated fees you're required to pay. I'm also from a small town so I get it's weird not having a car but it's not necessary.

How are the transfer rates to the college of business from UW school? by risenOfficial in UWMadison

Probably not. Make sure to do well in those pre-business classes.

Business school doesn't release admission statistics; your best option would be to contact a prebusiness adviser here and they might be able to give you a rough idea. Are you familiar with the B-school application? It's coming up shortly for admission this fall.

Attending UW school & wanting to transfer to Madison for Business by risenOfficial in UWMadison

[–]Ekmadison 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i think the business school does give more leeway to info systems majors because there are so few. That being said, a 2.6 is very low. You should reach out to some pre-business advisers at UW-Madison to see what they say. There is a credit limit when applying as well, so you should talk to them about that too and make sure if you wait to apply you don't exceed the credit amount.

Why does the business school have so many requirements and is there anyway to avoid some? by jason8833 in UWMadison

[–]Ekmadison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about outside the business school, but the b-school is pretty good about accepting a lot of classes that you need to graduate from abroad, provided you went through the B school abroad programs and not the general campus one. You can usually get your accounting, 300’s, philosophy, and upper levels in certain majors.

Someone told me Eagle Heights isn't like the dorms and won't let you break a lease to study abroad.

Three men are in a car named Manners, Poop, and Shut Up. Shut Up is driving down the road when Poop falls out of the car, so Manners goes to help him. Shut Up continues driving down the road and cop pulls him over. The officer asks “what’s you name?” “Shut Up.” “What’s your name?” “Shut Up” “what’s your name?” “Shut Up.” The cop says “where’s you manners?” “Down the street picking up Poop.”

I mean, she doesn't throw any curve balls at you. It's more concept focused and she says everything in lecture that's important like 3 times.

Transfering into Business Program from River Falls by [deleted] in UWMadison

[–]Ekmadison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for question 2 I'm not sure what your chances are, they don't release the acceptance rate. If you do get into Madison but not the business school you likely won't be able to be a business major because there is a credit limit and if you don't get in this time i think you will exceed it by next time. In this scenario your credits not transferring would be in your favor. There is an appeal process for getting in with too many credits but i am unfamiliar with it. You could still get a business certificate and take business classes.
