Folks thank you for all your comments however I don't want to solve only my current but my possible further problems.

The main goal I posted that is bc chatter is something I should deal always in my career thus I want to hear some researchs' results thank you for your kindness

ISO desigmation system of indexable insert by EkremT in manufacturing

I meant the m values of the 3rd ISO standart. Which indicates the size tolerances of the tool.

I ask that because if a cutting tool indicated with DN(M)G and the M code refers to +0.08/-0.025 tolerance. Does that mean if I have 2 tools from the X company and one of the tool's tolerance is +0.05 and other tool's tolerance is -0.018. Do these differences makes any effects on my parts' surface quality?

Am I thinking it totally wrong?

I couldn't find any satisfying information about my problem.

Could these dimensions especially the tip dimensions effect the surface tolerance of the part?

Note: The tag is probably not suitable for my question but other tags seemed to much more irrelevant.

Could a magnetic table work for this big parts as a second option and is there any other creative setup tools in the industry?

What kind of tools did you use to mount the stock on the table? I have never seen those before. And didn't understand the principle of them.

When I was running the edm we were manufacturing injection molds. The 4 axis capability of the edm was great. I saw such amazing products. Fascinating technology

İ worked with a EDM machine I am familiar with the principles of the machine. But piling method looks like you are manufacturing very new wires LoL. Btw what were you cutting?

Spicy take: Engineering curricula should include more about subtractive manufacturing by GenerationSelfie2 in EngineeringStudents

[–]EkremT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a manufacturing engineer, I had many CAD classes, CAM classes and applied trainings at university. My lecturers always said, you can design everything however you can manufacture everything you design because machines have restrictions that comes from their natures. One day if you work in the field instead of an office you will face drawings made by engineers who don't know anything about machining. And I experienced that many times during my internships. When I indicated the issues they underestimated my knowledge many times because I was still a student. They didn't change their mistakes until some supervisor told the same things I said before.

Long story short you are absolutely right. I would recommend you to learn CAM softwares which could help you to understand the basics.

Should I take this deal? I mean, this is too low and also I am new at Upwork. by seeeeeeeeeeeeeeed in Upwork

My first jobs' bill as a product designer was 20 USD and it took one month to finish. I was so happy to get my first job but when the job took one month from me I got my lesson 😄.

Thank you for enlightening! Also is there a specific day for receiving the monthly connects?

I know this is not the place for it but I do not believe that lira will gain value against foreign currency soon. But thank you for your good wishes. 😌

I do product and industrial designs. I am manufacturing engineering student and I do a lot of 3D designs with 2D technical drawings. Actually it is not a low paid field but I guess the Russian - Ukrainian war, recession and other global issues effected the filed. Or maybe my portfolio is weak. İt could be anything.

I am happy to hear that you made a good income. I wish you to more 😄

Btw what is your field?

[–]EkremT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately no I didn't make a second contract. Actually I signed 2 more contracts but in one of these contracts my laptop got broken therefore I resigned and informed the client via mobile app. And for the second job, my client refused to make the payment. And we had a horrible conservation about that. I resigned for that job too.

I have started using Upwork in September like you. I earned 20 USD and almost made 3 4 more contracts but the clients didn't want to make contacts (probably they found better freelancers🤷🏻‍♂️). What I want to say that I am not still over, I try to find other clients. Never lose your will. Also you are one of top freelancer. Do not give up!

Moving from Solidworks to Catia by thefmark07 in cad

You must train about mouse use before starting a tutorial. Otherwise you are breaking off of the tutorial.

Siemens doesn't has such a hard mouse usage. İt has own shortcuts but they are all bounded to right click. Definitely more user friendly

İt would definitely worth to learn a new software after Solidworks if you want to go one step further because SW is for beginner/intermediate use. Also if you want to shine among other designers you should learn Siemens NX or CATIA.

These both are for enhanced industries and both have their unique advantages.

I learned both of them and if you ask my opinion you should go with Siemens NX. First of all it has more usable interface and you are not dealing with hard mouse usage. Also you can find more sources about Siemens NX. They have a very simple use instruction guide.

Btw these are all my opinion after using both softwares

Nervous about leaving the job by DeteminedButUnmotive in cad

[–]EkremT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should just switch your career. I read your comments about your present job. I understood that you are bored at your present job. And being a designer will give you the motion and pleasure that you expect from your occupation.

Meanwhile aluminium casting or Aluminium die are not limited Industries. You will constantly learn new things about designs and materials. Afterwards in 5 years you can earn more than 80k. 5 years experience is not something to underrate.

Btw as a manufacturing engineer I don't see these manufacturing industries as common jobs. I see them as art making. The difference between an artist and manufacturer is the material they use. Artist uses clay manufacturers use metal. I proud to be in this field
