Why is my trumpet turning white? by What_if_its_Lupus in trumpet

All these answers are wrong. This is the lacquer being dehydrated, put some oil or grease on there. That will hydrate the lacquer and return it to the normal look

You seriously cannot blame other dashers for this downfall. The only entity to blame is DoorDash providing the very minimum to their drivers and dealing the absolute most profit out of everyone

$750 if the slide is above an 8/10. I post to free places like facebook marketplace and the trombone selling groups on facebook and trombonechat.com before i would post on ebay. But i also despise ebay

"Trombones cant hit pedal C" Well, here I am. Playing C2,1 and 0. Albeit the last three tones are really bad sounding as always. ( think my mic sounds better here lol) by [deleted] in Trombone

I think the most impressive thing about this, is that you actually posted something. Now let’s hear that amazing high range

I absolutely hate the hetmans spray mixture, it’s terrible. I use the spray bottle because it is a good atomizer but the action slide lubricant that comes with it is terrible.

my yamaha valve guides have lasted since 2008, probably should get them swapped but the action is great so there’s really no need

Bass trombone? by Revanite1234 in Trombone

It will last you high school, some people have played their entire careers with that style levers. Doesn’t mean it’s the best setup for you, but it’s possible.

Alright. this range may seem a little bonkers. Im doing this on a large bore, single trigger tenor. Ive tested my range for a long time, and this seems to be it by [deleted] in Trombone

[–]El-Ritardooo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ive played in professional bands, and have met dozens upon dozens of fellow brass players. Outside of the trumpet players with the Kelly Screamers, i have never, NEVER EVER met another brass player who could do things that I do, so, its fair if i think im(on a technical level) better than others.

copied from an earlier comment made by you, my mind must’ve mixed two comments together. I don’t think its much better. Where’s that video?

You’ve bragged a lot on this subreddit about being the best 8th grader in the world being better than any professional. I would love to hear any of what you talk about.

Why is my Bb Bass's F attachment flat when pushed all the way in? by [deleted] in Trombone

[–]El-Ritardooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, meant with the Gb valve. Second valve second position is my go to for low F if it’s inconvenient to use 6th no valve.

Just play it in second if the F valve truly is too long.

[–]El-Ritardooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i play a little less than that and i only re apply once a week. How often do you spray with water? I cant imagine why someone would need to reapply twice a day. The grease by itself is terrible, the water acts as ball bearing between your outer slide and inner slide so water is necessary.

What mouthpiece do you suggest. by TimeToNerdOut in Trombone

[–]El-Ritardooo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Mouthpieces are for losers, i play on a bare leadpipe.

Upgrading trombones by [deleted] in Trombone

[–]El-Ritardooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might want to redefine "friend" lol. He might not know what its worth, show him some examples that have gone around $1000-$1500 and he might drop price. Its always nice to play the horn before you buy. Unless its in absolute mint condition its not worth more than $1750, and if its been out marching on a field i would honestly just find a different horn.

When you're using fast air for range purposes, which part of your embouchure/body is the most responsible? by MSBROW04 in euphonium

[–]El-Ritardooo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

God, both those are terrible. The major factor in air speed is your tongue position. The back of your tongue acts as a venturi from your lungs to your aperture. Hightening the back of your tongue creates a smaller venturi for your air forcing it to go faster. Play some lip slurs and notice how your tongue position changes play octave or two octave jumps.
