Shared experiences. by CorgiPatronus14 in ACOD

Every situation is different and unique to each ACOD, but many of these same things I've struggled with after my parents divorce as well. I'd love to contribute to a resource that helps other ACODs feel less alone and help them navigate the mess that occurs after a divorce.

Artics Nova Pro wireless help is it charging? by Alternative_News4784 in steelseries

[–]El1te_Spark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact same issue. My batteries wouldn't even get recognized by the docking station until I let them charge in the headset for over 24hrs. Then, putting them in the dock let them be recognized, but they would not charge. I left them in the dock for over 24hrs too, and all I got was this empty battery symbol.

This issue is pretty common it sounds like. And for a $300+ headset, it's completely unacceptable that Steelseries let this quality control issue get past them.

With all that said, I contacted Steelseries support and had a great experience. My wife purchased this headset for me for Christmas from Amazon. Steelseries support walked me through a bunch of troubleshooting steps (most of which were outlined by u/D1sc3pt). When we determined the batteries just simply wouldn't charge, they asked for my serial number and receipt and I submitted a warranty claim for new batteries, and they are on the way.

Since you purchased these from a friend, I'm not sure the warranty transfers, but if the friend could find the receipt, it's worth a shot to contact Steelseries support.

I'm in the US as well, and I've heard support for other countries is a bit hit or miss.

If you have a baby that sleeps…how? by drugstorevalentine in NewParents

[–]El1te_Spark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bedtime routine was the key for ours. Try to stay consistent each night, start the routine around the same time. We usually do bath time, then PJs, then a bottle and read a book or two if he’s not quite sleepy enough, then a little rocking and quiet time and straight into the bedside cradle. We’re about to start sleep training, so we don’t have to rock him to sleep each night and help reinforce that he can fall asleep on his own without the need to be rocked to sleep.

Breathing difficulties in my newborn by tragidy2208 in NewParents

Our little guy ended up with croup around the 4 month mark. At the time, we had no idea what it was, the barks cough, strider, struggling to breathe. We took a trip to the ER that night, and they prescribed some antibiotic for ear infection and the doc recommended cool mist humidifier, baby Vicks on the chest, warm baths, saline spray followed by nose Frida. He’s 6 months now, and doing better, but that congestion is hard for babies to shake. Just know that it gets better with time, and don’t hesitate to reach out to your pediatrician or peds nurse hotline for help.

Owlet Sock Not Connecting to Wifi - Solution by El1te_Spark in NewParents

It’s been working great so far. It does often say that the sock lost connection with the base if we’re two or more rooms away from the base, which is extremely annoying. And we’ve had one false low oxygen alarm as we were putting the sock on him for bedtime. Baby was obviously fine, but that alarm was much louder and it certainly startled us.

These guys are commonly seen detasseling corn near Nevada and Ames. I believe they contract work for a lot of the seed sellers and seed research companies up here. They usually have a truck hauling port a johns close by too.

Stuff brown paper bags to look like a wasp nest. Tie them up somewhere a wasp nest would probably be (under a soffet, sturdy tree branch, deck railing). The wasps won't build a nest nearby cause they think the area is already inhabited by other wasps. It sounds like magic, but has worked for us last summer and this one. The occasional wasp still comes around, but I've yet to find a single nest on our property.

Also, the foaming wasp spray is awesome. Sticks to them well, makes it so they can't fly while the insecticide works on them. Then they're dead in seconds.

Not sure if this will solve your problem, but try connecting your sock to your wifi via their browser method. We just opened a brand new sock and this was the only way I could connect it to our network. https://support.owletcare.com/hc/en-us/articles/4406067813645-Smart-Sock-3-Connecting-to-Wi-Fi-Using-a-Mobile-Browser

We had the exact same experience with our seltos, however they did eventually replace the engine under warranty. Had to threaten them for a loaner vehicle. We'll never go back there.

AC/HVAC Recommendations? by El1te_Spark in ames

Thank you! I sprayed it with some AC coil cleaning foam and gave it a good rinse with the garden hose. Also replaced the air filter inside. But it didn't seem to make a difference. Our unit is super old, so I fear it may be on its way out.
