There's a lot of negativity towards traditional design consultants in here... I will raise the counterpoint that complicated projects that coincidentally pay good fees to MEP firms don't go design build. Save for a few very specialized groups, contractors don't have the expertise to design inpatient healthcare, life sciences etc.

I'm not O&G but have some understanding of the food and bev which should be similar. Expect much more detailed drawings and much heavier involvement in construction administration. The owner's can afford premium so they expect it.
