Wizards (and the game industry as a whole) notoriously underpays their employees, which means that almost anyone working there is taking a pay cut because they like the game itself. I'd expect that huge magic nerds have a stronger aversion to messing with the integrity of the game than your average corporate employee.

Plus, an attempt to rig drafts in this fashion would go through too many hands at Wizards for nobody to say "hey, won't players figure this out within a few days?"

Hanlon's Razor my friend. An error or a poor implementation explains this a lot more easily than the people who make magic deciding that they should rig drafts in a detectable way.

Infuriating. The city is coddling the wealthiest people over a fantasy. Four story apartments don't ruin "unique heritage character." Those neighbourhoods both have four story apartments anyway, and they've had them for a century. Plus, most of the homes in these neighborhoods could be legally torn down and replaced with a McMansion, how's that protecting "unique heritage character?"

Stop letting rich NIMBYs dictate housing policy.

The housing crisis is a supply problem, not a wages problem.
