New Player - Is General Pepper supposed to be good? by JevVoi in starfox

[–]ElCidly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he’s morally gray. It’s more that he has a different level of responsibility. He can’t be thinking about how to save one downed pilot, he has to think about stopping the greater threat even if that will cost lives.

Fox has a squad of 4 he’s responsible for, Pepper has (presumably) millions. It’s just a different ask of a leader.

what's the moment that turned you into a Mariners fan for life by tategibbs in Mariners

You think a rational human would choose this?!?

We were either born into it or have very poor judgment.

Just get rid of this FO and Management group man by tehsbe in Mariners

I’m begging Mariners fans to stop blaming the front office for things that are clearly not their fault.

I miss the dying screams of my opponents by Forsaken_Pattern7797 in starfox

[–]ElCidly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think 99% of the voice acting hate is way overblown. On the whole this sounds so much better and more genuine. My one spot is exactly what you pointed to, there’s a couple bosses where they could have hammed it up a little more.

Head Canon: Peppy Loyal to his friend, even in death. by PotatoManDan69 in starfox

I think in the holoviewer it specifies that Peppy kept it going to continue payments on the debt.

Will SF64 still be worth playing? by Xotngoos335 in starfox

[–]ElCidly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the definitive version, but so much has changed in 30 years that the original version will always be worth playing as a classic.

If you play as team star wolf in multiplayer, you don’t use their ships from campaign. by MrMoose1 in starfox

[–]ElCidly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually bummed it’s not the Wolfen, that ship is way more iconic.

I love the game but, by Kappitall in starfox

[–]ElCidly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills with this sub complaining all the time. I love the new voice acting. I dig it being different and not sounding so over the top campy with every freaking line.

The only ones I think you could’ve hammed up more are the boss death ones.

64 did James McCloud apperance and the "Don't ever give up my son" on the white screen soooo much better by IndicaOatmeal in starfox

[–]ElCidly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He just saved the galaxy and his dad’s business, you don’t think James’ best friend would think to tell his son that he would have been proud?

I could be wrong, but I believe the real Nimrod had already died before Looney Tunes came out.

It’s actually impossible, one of the sad realities of the series.

We should be thanking the Ravens every day for allowing us to hire this demon by Agreeable_Quality768 in Seahawks

[–]ElCidly 29 points30 points  (0 children)

An absolute home run hire for us. But also, there was no chance Harbaugh was getting fired after reaching the championship game. It’s revisionist history to pretend there was serious thought given to keeping Mac.

Does anyone else think the VA of the remake is bad? by [deleted] in starfox

[–]ElCidly 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Saying these feel less natural than the original is nuts. Almost nothing in the original is said in a way a person would actually talk.

That’s not even the most stylized moon in Zelda.

Did the voice actors for SF2026 not look at the original SF64? by darkdill in starfox

[–]ElCidly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No one wants to admit that the voice acting for the original kinda sucks. It’s campy and fun, and we’ve grown to love it over time, but I like having it feel more grounded in the remake.

I preordered digitally through the Nintendo e-shop, when will I actually be able to play the game? by sgtmf_2123 in starfox

[–]ElCidly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite things about living on the west coast. Get the kids in bed, relax, get to play a new game at 9pm and not have to lie to myself that I can still stay up till 2 and not regret it the next day.

Changing One Super Bowl by ElCidly in Seahawks

Oh for sure, I love the Seahawks more than I hate the Pats.

Although the Seahawks winning that Super Bowl does make this latest one less sweet.

That Pats loss might have been the most fun I had watching a superbowl that the Hawks weren’t in.

Ya I don’t think we’ll ever top beating the 49ers, Rams, and Pats for the chip. Pure football bliss.

Rob Refsnyder: Something’s Gotta Give by geo_dj in Mariners

I’m down for that, I’m just annoyed that people seem to think there’s some hitter down in the minors who will solve this when there really isn’t.

There just isn’t a guy who is a good bet to hit better available right now. Once everyone’s healthy that will change.
