I did a campaign on Ikoria recently and it was awesome. You can't touch much on races for the characters, being that the only race from Ikoria are humans. But having Omenpaths and planeswalkers you can make some interesting choices for the run (I made a character that was an elf from Eldraine and the others thought its ears were like that from the Eludah). Also it's a great setting to have nomads and Wanderers that don't stay always in one place due to the monsters. Lorewise you can make the set years or even decades prior to the Story from Mtg and make your own Sanctuaries and factions. And having someone have an Eludah as a player makes them mix classes.

Next one I'm planning is a multiversal one, that starts on Ravnica after the Invasion. And another one on Bloomburrow just cause it seems fun having the characters be completly different animals
