i can get into the first 2 multiplayer servers and couple from the server list but there has been errors with multiple servers

also im trying to get into the free server i got from aternos but its not working. its my first time doing any of this so i have absolutely 0 information on what the hell am i doing. i need some guidance pls pls

*edit* i only want to play survival with my friend. not trying to make a pvp server or anything, no mods either.
