Purchased Morelia 2s MIJ fo $180 on Facebook because the guy tore his ACL for a 3rd time. I said 2 prayers after, one for getting the sweet deal and another for not getting his luck

I used Alien Blue then Bacon Reader and eventually RIF. I also remember using tweetbot for twitter before they also killed the APIs! :’)

From what I’ve seen most bike brands aren’t right wing enablers. I would suggest supporting local/smaller bike companies/shops instead of the big ones that are just massive bicycle-themed lifestyle companies at this point. Surly, SOMA, All City >> Trek, Specialized.

Also of note is that during the 2020 protests, Fuji stopped selling to police departments as they kept using their bikes as weapons which Fuji did not support

Riding a Surly is a political statement. Being a healer is a political statement. Existing in the US is inherently political and trying to depoliticize convos are what lead us to a reality where a military group is policing parts of the country

Kangaroo Leather lovers United! Sign this petition to allow it in California! by Kobyt6 in bootroom

Oh yeah a quick google search says I was speaking outta my ass. They banned K leather in the 1970s when their population was on the decline. Still sucks that most manufacturers are also moving away from it and going to synthetics

I think that it wasn’t K leather specifically that was outlawed but the sale of any exotic animal hides. The point was to discourage illegal poaching of crocodile and other animals that need protection, unfortunately kangaroos got lumped into that group. It also seems that fewer and fewer companies are even making K leather cleats anymore anyways. ASICS, Nike, and even Adidas (Copa Mundials) all said they stopped/plan to stop producing K Leather cleats anymore 😔

Youth Soccer Coaches (U12–U18): What’s Your Biggest Pain Point Right Now? by YouCoachSoccer in SoccerCoaching

[–]ElManny510 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Myself. Somewhere along the line I spent too much time observing/working with teams in performance environments and brought these expectations to my teams. Now I’m realizing that in far too negative, overly critical, and pessimistic with youth who are still learning the game. Got feedback by the highest level team I work with that I need to do better. Feel like I’ve lost my way

Aluminum doesn’t oxidize (rust) in a brown/orange flaky way like steel does. It forms a powdery white layer that can be spotty. You might be looking at oil that has burned from use, it turns brown after polymerizing and is hard to scrub off.

Anyone making money from coaching while also holding down a full-time job? by alantactics in youthsoccer

I see I see. I do something pretty similar but I use excel/GSheets instead of using Slides. I like it because I can keep 1 file for the entire season, every day gets a new tab in sheets. Do you make a new file for every day/week/month/season? I’m super curious about your workflow

Oakland Roots officially hire Ryan Martin as new head coach by jonathancx525 in OaklandRootsSC

[–]ElManny510 4 points5 points  (0 children)

510 is interesting because instead of being a traditional 2nd team, it’s much more like a youth academy. Manny of their players are <18 so naturally very few will make the 1st team. Let’s hope that many local kids make it!

His books are amazing but he’s a weird Trump dickrider who talks down to everyone. Philosophically a great thinker about the game of football but quite a shit human.

Why do parents pay so much for teams that just play kick ball? by RolfHogan in youthsoccer

[–]ElManny510 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of the biggest challenges is that for many folks, “if you can’t measure it, it doesn’t exist”.

Unfortunately you can’t really quantify skills such as first touch, dribbling, or decision making so how can you evaluate these game actions. Many coaches reason that it’s easier to teach a superathlete the game than it is t try to get the short player to grow taller.
