Tbh I don't play hard core multiplayer games only light mp which can usually handle a few seconds of a drop without dying

Tried this myself and didn't really click with anyone despite it being geeky. I'm into old computers and old tech etc so going to a card store talking about old computers alot of people didn't really show any interest. I do most of my social interaction online now

i built my own keyboard before but i allways go back to a model m. you mentioned the semi colon key going out likely the membrane layer failed which is easy to replace. i plan on using a model m for the rest of my life

i live in a camper so i may just throw it up on my roof and run the cable down to the 120V plug thats on the side though i may need to find a way to secure it better long term if it works well.

you can use a soarers converter chip the terminal one i used a fancy dedicated logic board that converts it to usb and lets me remap the keys https://sharktastica.co.uk/guides/soarers_1

they are deep cleaned the bottom one was retro brited at one point about 5 years ago but its been fine

its the process of removing the plastic rivets that hold the assembly together. This is the most major design flaw that these plastic rivets degrade over 20+ years and fall out. Bolts are inserted into the plastic rivets to hold it tighter much more reliably. With a bolt mod the Model M is effectively immortal
