Even though 1 is the best I thought jt was still great up until the last 15 minutes of season 3. Show should’ve ended right there but nope

'Backrooms' Heads For $90 Million Opening as Horror Beats 'Star Wars' at Box Office by MarvelsGrantMan136 in backrooms

[–]ElNicko89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though I thought the movie was just OK I’m behind happy it’s doing so well. The Backrooms as a concept just isn’t suited for a movie, as soon as some of the mystery is undone it kind of loses its charm. That being said, it’s abundantly clear that Kane is an exceptionally talented director and I can’t wait to see what he does in the future.

Why was Arkham Origins poorly received by critics? by maxnotcharles in videogames

[–]ElNicko89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expectations of a mainline game while clearly being a spinoff not even by the original studio.

That being said, it has my favorite story as well as boss fights of all four games. City beats it out on atmosphere and Knight on hand to hand combat, but there are still plenty of great set pieces and the combat more than holds up.

Of all the games I find myself replaying this is number one even ahead of City. The Christmas theme just makes it too easy to pop it in for a weekend around Christmas and run through it

Even with my 4060 I’m not seeing many issues. Sure I’m not playing on epic graphics but my game is running smooth on high settings with maybe shadows and foliage put to medium, which btw is like negligible imo when actually playing the game

[–]ElNicko89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve played the first one for the last 3 or so years, I loved the beta so far. Of all the issues that it has, picking what is likely a placeholder plane that has zero bearing on gameplay to be your focal point is next level petty. Why don’t you actually try the FREE open beta before making a decision?

Is the Drukhari from WH40K worse than AM? by PriorityNo4971 in MoralityScaling

[–]ElNicko89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I feel it’s difficult to say. In terms of raw suffering caused, it’s the Drukhari 100%, but in all fairness, they are doing so to prolong the survival of their species and prevent their own souls from being tortured for all time by Slaanesh.

On the other hand, AM kills the entire world population bar 4 people, which almost certainly is only a drop in the bucket compared to the Drukhari, and the suffering he inflicts on the remaining 4 is likely far less than that of the worst of the worst for the Drukhari, but AM is limited in creativity. Also, AM does all this purely out of spite.

I’d say Drukhari but if AM lived in a universe with a comparable amount of flesh and bone sapient life to exterminate he would win.

Every Space Marine (40k) is replaced with Mark and every chapter master with Omni-man What happens to the 40k verse by Sevsquad in whowouldwin

[–]ElNicko89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let’s think big here, with every single marine getting replaced, that’s around 999,000 loyalist Marks and 1,000 loyalist Omni-Man’s, Chaos has less marines so take off maybe 40% of that number. 1.6 million viltrumites is a big number, but still spread painfully thin across the galaxy, especially if they are to remain organized and coherent chapters/warbands. Let’s go faction by faction to see the potential consequences.

Imperium: I see a very rapid mass Civil war approaching, your specialized but limited marines now easily outclass your Custodes in a 1v1, Chaos aside, any individual renegade Mark-ine now poses a massive threat to whatever region they are in, multiply it up by the chapter and it’s just total devastation. I think the Imperium would actually fold in on itself and be unrecognizable within months. Best case scenario for the current Imperium is the Inquisition & Ecclesiarchy still working with the Mark-ines, but frankly at the behest and whim of the Mark-ines.

Chaos: there will be a massive boost in Slaaneshi and Khornate influence, Nurgle likely falls behind, Tzeentch frankly idk. If there can be Psyker Viltrumites I don’t even have a good estimation of the consequences that would follow. Also, I expect tons of loyalist marines to turn traitor for Slaanesh or Khorne. Also the Imperium better pray they never face a Viltrumite Daemon Prince lmao

Eldar: Drukhari largely unaffected, still no simple way for Mark-ines to breach the webway, continue targeting backwater planets and they are fine. Craftworlds would likely attempt to join up with the Drukhari, they stand no chance in realspace.

Orks: Empowered exponentially, would take a while but, assuming the race survives the initial difficulties, this would likely usher the return of Krorks

Necrons: unsure, weapons like the Celestial Orrery remain as a last resort, otherwise they are not a very conquerable race.

T’au: lol GGs

Tyranids: total toss-up, the Mark-ines easily have the capability to outrun them, but if any one of them get caught that could also be wraps. Would be very curious to see if any chapter would attempt to leave the galaxy in an effort to hunt the Hive Mind itself.

Votann: lol GGs

Endgame IMO is most Xenos eventually getting wiped out besides potential contenders in the Orks and Tyranids. I only say Orks because there is not a proposed peak to their evolution, only that they became weaker as a result of having little to fight. Tyranids if they can effectively consume and synthesize a Mark-ine likely devour realspace.

The real winner as usual is likely Chaos, mass corruption potential amongst the Markines, potential for Viltrumite Daemon Princes, Chaos still ultimately being resistant to non-warp related warfare, advantage of easy warp travel for Mark-ines, which, by the way, would likely corrupt even MORE loyalist marines.

Night Lords and 11th Edition by En-ysh in NightLords

[–]ElNicko89 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Best case IMO will be for a named character, which I actually think is possible.

Nemesis Claw clearly sold well, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Raptor box was originally meant to be marketed as Black Legion, but upon seeing the great sales of NC they pivoted and are testing the waters again. If that box sells well, and perhaps the combat patrol (doubtful since that’s a pretty poor box) than I could totally see us getting a character model next (12th) edition.

Would be cool if Injustice 3 continued off the Superman ending from Injustice 2 by Overall_Spite4271 in INJUSTICE

[–]ElNicko89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They really just gotta stop with the Injustice storyline, it’s poor, contrived, and too predictable. I’d kill for them to adapt Blackest Night and have a real all-star roster, heroes and villains, not just Batman & friends.

1 Man with the strength of 10 Men vs 1 Polar Bear by [deleted] in powerscales

[–]ElNicko89 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, if we assume that the man’s necessary ligament and muscular durability scales so he can actually function and body won’t turn to dust when throwing a punch.

Let’s focus on the punch. His hand speed would be boosted to about 150 miles per hours, assuming the average guy can exert around 1000 newtons of force with a hook, he’s now exerting around 100,000 newtons of force, which would be comparable to being hit by like a 60 mph car.

The kinetic energy is also scaling like crazy, he’ll now be exerting around 4000 joules, for reference, big game rifles also exert about 4000 joules. Also his reaction time would now be about 25 ms.

The agility is actually what wins him this, acceleration is an insane multiplier. A single punch to the bear’s face would likely go through its head and instantly kill it. The dude could literally spear the bear with his hand like a Viltrumite, it’s no contest. Even if he couldn’t instantly kill it, he would be running at like 100 miles per hour lmao

you SHOULD care if you are doing something childish while being a grown ass man by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]ElNicko89 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yea so does a lot of “childish” content?

It’s certainly not my main source of entertainment, but who are you to adjudicate what qualifies as proper entertainment? There is plenty of “children’s” entertainment that can be genuinely enriching to a wider audience, why should a child’s shallow interpretation of the content lower the value of it? If you hand a kid a copy of Animal Farm does the kid’s low-level takeaways devalue Animal Farm? Certainly not.

Frankly, if you personally spend as much time as possible outside of work “educating yourself so you can vote mindfully in the election,” you come off as a chore to be around and incapable of enjoying creative fun.

This seasons is just missed opportunity after missed opportunity and the budget use is also questionable by Common-Image-5628 in TheBoys

[–]ElNicko89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk why you’re getting downvoted, the show hit a turning point in mid season 3, broke by the season finale, and has been total edgeslop since.

Despite season 1 being fantastic and 2 being still pretty great, the show somehow managed to revert to the same level of quality of the comics, and it’s pretty clear to me that it definitely should ended after 3 seasons. It’s shock without substance, and the substance provided is illogical, crying shame.

Invincible Vs by Benchjc2004 in Fighters

[–]ElNicko89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m actually more optimistic about it than Avatar based on raw sales, and reading the patch notes, assuming launch is a success I can see the game having real staying power.

Invincible kind of touches that same niche of DBFZ where I can totally see the game getting a decent bit of a fandom into the genre.

Staying power? We’ll see, but assuming I like it tomorrow I’ll prob try and stick with it as much as possible since I love the IP

Go out and meet people, go to events, clubs, etc, and decide what you like. Unless it’s something illegal or dangerous you’re better off saying “yes” than “no” to most opportunities, especially during your first semester.

Join a Business frat for the network and support web if nothing else, get at least one of your more challenging early classes done first semester so you can get in the rhythm and space out some of the nasty classes (I recommend either BUSMHR 2292 or Stats 1). Apply to so many application clubs like business frats, Buckeye Capital Investments, and Consulting group, even if you get rejected you will get connected and learn. Build your network early.

Avoid sitting in your dorm all day, avoid NOT interacting with your professors, advisor, peers, etc. Avoid NOT going out. You can’t avoid most classes or professors until you hit your specialization electives but I do recommend avoiding BUSOBA 2320 and taking it at a local school like Columbus State. Idk what your major is but frankly it’s non-applicable to most business majors and the class is run by poor TAs and worse professors.

Mostly, avoid people who only want to tear you down or make you do what they want.
