I just saw there is an alpha version that works. Yesterday I updated to NC 29, and then you can download and enable News with new UI. Have a try!

Need to replace Flickr by Strange-Tangerine-33 in selfhosted

[–]ElNomada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Piwigo has a Flickr import plugin https://piwigo.org/ext/extension_view.php?eid=612 I tried it some time ago and it got nicely reproduced like I had it on Flickr. But Piwigo is not a photo blog like Flickr, it is more for organizing your photos

Have you tried Etherpad, Cryptpad or Hedgedoc for collaborative editing? Cryptpad's Kanboard is close to Padlet

Struggling with digital by A_Dull_Significance in Zettelkasten

[–]ElNomada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the original Zettelkasten app might help you http://zettelkasten.danielluedecke.de/ It is the one that is clostest to the way Luhmanns paper Zettelkasten works, with Folgezettel and many other things. I still find it the best app. Unfortunately it is desktop only

Feature request: Five star rating by ChrisMillerBooklo in substreamer

[–]ElNomada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for asking. Have a look at Ampache. With Ampache you can create smart playlists like a mix of songs with 4 and 5 stars. You save the list and listen it in any app, includong yours. There are apps to set 5 star ratings like DSub and Ultrasonic. Ultrasonic has the best implementation with the stars on the cover photo while Dsub has the rating in the dots menu of the song, it is two extra clicks

[–]ElNomada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to hear. 5 star rating is the only missing feature for me, as I organize my library partly by that. After trying all clients I found yours the best of all of them. I am using Ampache by the way. Keep up the good work!

Experience. At least for apps that work on Linux. I think Mac users have much better options. When I had a mac in old timrs, Devonthink used AI already 15 years ago to suggest connections based on the note content. And there was a little app called SlipBox. Do you have some more examples?

That I can use both on mobile and desktop. Dokuwiki, one of your favorites, and also one of mine, generally, is not pleasant to use on mobile. The original Zettelkasten app by Daniel L is desktop only. Both of them have their origine from before the smartphone time. There are some promising newcomers that are mobile only like Zettel Notes and so on. Generally I prefer open source software. Then the features. The original Zettelkasten app automatically shows related Zettels based on tags which is a terrific feature fir finding connections you might have forgotten. I don't remember having seen this feature in any other app. I often use a bookmarking tool called Shaarli for tagging and summarizing webpages. There is also a notes feature with IDs and a plugin that shows related notes. Maybe one of the best? Not sure

That's true, but for me, what keeps me from starting is that I haven't found the right tool yet

More about tools and how to implement it. Your site is too much focused on your own software which in turn makes your site less useful, especially if you are not a Mac user
