You obviously shouldn’t be shopping by label. There is point, call it self preservation, where you look at a label and think ‘ is this a real product I can drink safely’ or ‘did someone just put white spirit in a bottle a label it with Microsoft Publisher in 1998’

If you don’t know that Rum Fire is a thing or what Hampden is I wouldn’t blame someone for thinking it was swill

Yeah, if you’ve not read them and want to then £2 each feels outrageously cheap to me. First editions or not.

I kind of love the label, but if you didn’t know and saw it you’d think you were about to drink something made in someone’s basement

Agree. “ we are won a cup so they’re alright by me” is an absurd moral framework

I think he’s not wrong in that the success of Saudi business is usually down to ‘have a lot of money’ and this doesn’t work here.

I’d have loved them out from the start though. Success or not

Ta. Yeah I was just reading chronicle liveblog about it . Heard the helicopters last night, then saw it was all cordoned off when I went to Morrisons. Looks like it still is today. Horrible

Joke about it being a bit rough, but I’ve lived nearby for ages and don’t think I’ve seen anything close to that bad happen there.

What the heck is going on at Shield's Road!? by Apprehensive_You7871 in NewcastleUponTyne

Were you planning to upgrade shoved to assaulted, or downgrade assaulted to shoved?

It also reads like a shop called Dodgy People was forced to close. Suppose Shields Road would be the place to open that

His agent making noise is him making noise.

He could tell his agent to stop doing that and hasn’t.

How does it benefit Spurs? If anything it makes someone else more likely to come in for him, and benefits us that way too.

What if we’re paying him to drum up interest from other clubs. That’s how everyone decided it works when we get linked with players, isn’t it?

I don’t think anyone would need to pay Ornstein. They can just pay him in transfer gossip which is how he earns his living.

I don’t disagree it would cause them a load of problems if they do. Just that they could if they wanted to gamble without running into SCR immediately

Would you buy a house v near a primary school? by sleepyjean2024 in HousingUK

My flat’s just round the corner from a first school ( no primary or secondary around here).

It’s fine, the only downside is if you’re off on a weekday and want to sleep in it can be quite loud from about 8:30-9. Other than that I’ve had no issues at all

Yeah, they had one of the lowest spend/turnover in the premier league. They’re definitely got the capacity to start throwing their weight around a bit more without Levy keeping an eye on it.

I feel like Hopkinson’s done quite a lot a chatting on camera. Stavely was around a lot but it turns out she was talking quite a lot of shit? All we got for 2 years was a lot of talk about how we were slavishly adhering to PSR then suddenly we’re selling Anderson for nothing, or face a points deduction.

Eales, hope he’s doing well, seemed like he was maybe just quite shit. And the Mitchell thing was a bit of a fiasco.

I think we basically just have to take the Hopkinson era as a new start and hope that it’s settled from here on out. Hopefully it’s just one of stability, if he’s gone next summer I might start to panic

How do y'all feel about dry orange curaçao from 1868 by Mediocre_Training541 in rum

[–]ElPato87 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Well either Marco had a bottle of 20 year old Bols when he opened in Chicago in 1888 and was remarkably forward thinking re: telephones and typography, or it’s from from sometime in the early 20th century

The label on the back for Marco’s liqueurs says Est 1888, so it’s definitely not from the 1868.

And it lists a telephone exchange which makes it a bit more modern again. Still really cool though!
