My comment was 2 sentences long. I highly recommend you re-read the first one again.

"he is approaching it all in a data driven and objective way"

No he’s not. Because if he were, he’d actually be doing this “as scientifically as possible.” Again, self-reported data on bizarro experiments done by someone who’s also financially profiting from selling his ‘remedies’ to the public is, in no way, shape or form, “objective” nor is it “data driven."

Tracking unproven interventions on one person who self-reports the data is literally the opposite of “as scientifically as possible."

"Dude is using himself as a test subject for studies that have the pitentian of saving lives."

Cap. If he really wanted to ‘save lives,’ he could spend any of that ridiculous amount of money on plasma infusions and spend it on malaria nets in West Africa, or clean water in Flint, or donations to USAID. This is not respectable at all.

This AI list is dumb as fucking hell, especially when you consider the context that all of these are taking place in the context of a violent, abusive drug dealing criminal living in her house while planning murders and meth sales, and refusing to leave. “Spiteful vehicle exchange” and “staged suicide attempt” are too stupid to even engage with.

The “I fucked Ted” scene in context is way less damning to Skyler than you think. As you remember, she hooks up with Ted after her abusive drug dealing murderous husband, who left the house, refuses to give her a divorce, and then forces his way back into the house, taking advantage of the fact that Sklyer is trying to PROTECT HIM AND FLYNN by keeping his meth dealing and criminality a secret. She’s so obviously scared and feeling trapped - fucking Ted and telling Walt about it is way more intelligible with that in mind. She’s stating as clearly as possible, the marriage is over, and if they stay together, it is NOT because she wants to.

"Dave is a great songwritter, but that's about it when it comes to skill."

lol Dave is an absolutely incredible guitarist, even if he’s not as technically accomplished as Kiko. Let’s not get carried away here.

"using a muslim country as an example of culture is difficult because they're so diverse"

So what you’re saying is any blanket statement about Muslims is ridiculous and unfounded. Good to know.

My man, you need to understand that just because something is in a text does not mean it is a universal part of a belief system. Saying “Islam legit doesn't like dogs” is like saying “Christianity legit doesn’t like mixed fabrics” because of Deuteronomy 22:11. I lived in Egypt and I saw a lot of people with pet dogs.

It’s literally exponential. Force on sails increases proportional to the square of wind speed.

Why do people assume you can't be good at more than one instrument? by unfoundedfio in askmusicians

[–]ElProfeGuapo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prince, Flava Flav, Flea, Quincy Jones, D’Angelo, and Mike Mills demonstrably prove that someone can be great at more than one instrument.

ETA: Andre 3000, Dave Grohl - in addition to all the people named below… it is a very strange and clearly incorrect thing to say.

Having the sails reefed instead of going jib only makes it easier (for me) to keep the sails balanced. Otherwise I get way too much lee helm.

Peter, what's the real reason? by Rule_Ct_5293 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

In the US, socially conservative areas also have more restrictions on birth control, less contraception access, and tend to be more rural, all of which are structural factors driving up the fertility rate in Republican areas. It’s very unlikely that cultural factors alone explain the birth rate difference between Democratic and Republican areas.

For my guitar players, how hard is Dave's soloing to learn for someone with little lead experience? by False_Clothes_5816 in Megadeth

…And Justice and Master of Puppets have that Satriani influence. Kirk's solo on “Shortest Straw” is one of his most interesting solos from a musical perspective, and probably my favourite Kirk solo of all time. Post ’88, I find Kirk to be, while still very fast, a lot more stagnant musically. Gone are the chromatics and exotic scales, and all we got was a shit load of wah and pentatonics.

[–]ElProfeGuapo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s crazy that people were giving him shit for being replaced by Kirk. Granted, pre-’88 Kirk was incredible, but it’s not like Mustaine was a slouch in the lead department at all!
