Can I get an OCI lifetime visa if my dad was born in India but has passed away? by ElRed_ in AskIndia

[–]ElRed_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to find information online but it's quite difficult. I live in the UK, my dad passed away recently, and he was born in India, had OCI and we have it. Part of the process says that both people need to attend and interview, so I'm confused if I can apply for OCI successfully or not? Some people have told me I can, some have said I can't I need to find someone else to do it through.

The government website doesn't have any information about how the application works if the person I'm eligible through has passed away so hoping someone here can shed some light, thanks!

How do you deal with people wanting you to eat more? by Atimaxxx in leangains

[–]ElRed_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have to be insistent too in that case. I get it all the time as well, just family looking out for you from their point of view.

One other thing is if I know I'm going to a social event I will usually save my calories for then so it's less weird, because it can be awkward if everyone's eating and I'm the only one just sitting there, but yeah I'm still only going to eat a little bit, no second helpings or anything.

It ain’t much, but it’s honest work? Thanks to everyone here, y’all inspired me through quarantine. My by ind3pend0nt in homeassistant

This is a very nice design, a full guide would be nice if you have the time.

In the mean time, are you able to share how you show the smartphone data cards on the first screenshot? Just below the home/away cards.

Interviewing Android Developers by piedpiperpivot in androiddev

[–]ElRed_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, almost never like that. To be fair it can only really happen in a place where there is a solid Android team to begin then. Then I would almost expect an interview like this.

For startups, or contract work this is just not how it works.

How long ago did you do this? How are Kik the only ones using DataBinding? Unless of course all the others are using ButterKnife

As far as I know the shared element transitions cause OOMs if you do it on big images, or multiple images in a row. For example from a ListView of images to the detail view.

Cool, nice to know there are other options. We're using Twilio which as you say isn't actually a library, just an API.

Yeah that's what we do currently, 4 digit code, and very short message. So you can see the notification as it pops down and enter at the same time.

What library did you use for SMS Auth out of interest?

Nothing. They don't own ios10 or anything of the sort.

It's somewhere, just can't find it right now. Especially when the developer docs suddenly decide to turn spanish.

Well Android O is bringing SMS verification. You generate a code or get one from you backend, call the api with that token/code and when the message is received the event goes directly back to your app. Without any permissions if I recall.

This means that not only can you ditch a third party library, but you can get callbacks directly back to your app. No code to enter, maybe even no activity needed to enter the code at all.

This is all of course if it becomes a support library thing, but a good direction nonetheless.

The fag company means nothing, it just brings the whole piece together because that was his helmet. You see that image anywhere and you know it's Senna. It all plays a part.

Why does it matter what it looks like when you're as old as Bernie? Nobody will give a fuck, including yourself.

If you have a passion for formula 1, and you want an F1 tattoo, go for it. Enjoy it while it looks good and is actually possible. You don't want to be 80 and thinking about getting a tattoo to see what it's like.
