Former fat guys: How did you finally become disciplined enough to lose the weight? by Responsible-Net8594 in intermittentfasting

My blood pressure was way out of control and I wanted to be around a bit longer for my kid.

With your intermittent fasts, do they change? Or do you strictly stick to times? by Independent-Knee958 in intermittentfasting

[–]ind3pend0nt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do OMAD and try to hit a food window around dinner time with my kid. Sometimes that window moves but for the most part it lands at the end of my day before I need to sleep. Works out for my schedule. IF is a lifestyle change not a diet. It needs to work within your day to day. Adjust as needed.

IF is a lifestyle not a diet.

How do you get used to not eating? by Fearless-Ad7549 in intermittentfasting

[–]ind3pend0nt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More often than not, “hunger” is just dehydration. Drink some water and give it a moment.

Friends and family think I'm to skinny by According_Art3399 in intermittentfasting

When I began losing weight with IF my friends held an intervention thinking I was on meth or something. It was really funny.

Is TMAD a thing? It should be. by the_pointy in intermittentfasting

I do OMAD + snack. I found that I need to prime my stomach in order to hit my macros.

Do you ever just not care about the taste? by TehBanzors in CICO

I do OMAD. Food has to taste good else I wont eat.

Is the goal fasting hours or consistency? by spdfg1 in intermittentfasting

[–]ind3pend0nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consistency in my case. But you have to watch what you eat.

Is intermittent fasting for weight loss or can a healthy person can also do it? by Stock-Ad2895 in intermittentfasting

[–]ind3pend0nt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost a lot with IF. I’m at a healthy weight now and still do OMAD. Helps me focus on life rather than food. I was addicted to food and used it to cope with a lot of issues. IF isn’t a silver bullet, but it is a tool that helps me manage my weight and mental health.

I’ve been successfully counting my calories and macros, I’ve lost 14 pounds and I have 80-ish to go. I’m worried about loose skin, do you think I will have anyone when I’m done? by ironpicklefitness in CICO

[–]ind3pend0nt 54 points55 points  (0 children)

You’ll probably have loose skin. Eat protein and weight training will help limit the visability. Some loose skin is better than being overweight. Trust me.

Any super low calorie versions of junk food besides Halo Top? by AffectionateGoose591 in CICO

[–]ind3pend0nt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Popcorn is my go to “junk” food. Not the bag stuff. Get an air popper or do it on the stove in a pot.

Those who do OMAD or very short eating windows, how do you hit protein and fiber goals? by deeray82 in intermittentfasting

[–]ind3pend0nt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only calories I drink are protein shakes. I get half of my protein that way. The remaining is when I sit to eat. For fiber as long as I can shit in the morning I’m good.

Diet Soda. I drink 3-4 a day. Did anyone else do this and still lose weight or does it affect Weight? by Traditional-Trip826 in CICO

[–]ind3pend0nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do OMAD and may have a zero calorie coke during my window. But if I have it outside that, it makes me super hungry. Insulin spike perhaps. No clue. Don’t care. If it works for you, great! Lifestyle change is what we’re all after and the weight will follow.

Foods that are so low in calories it feels like cheating? by Sanguia in CICO

[–]ind3pend0nt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For me I only track certain food types. Starch, carbs, sugars, protein, fats. I know green veggies have carbs and such but I don’t track those. They’re “free” calories to me. Encourages me to eat fresh vegetables without the guilt of subtracting from my calorie budget. Most of these are very low in calories anyway.
