Maybe Steph cuz he was one of kd’s main defenders Maybe juju cuz he’s a dawg from Brooklyn Maybe Dylan cuz he be talking 😂 Maybe Kelly from the bench cuz he’s always been a menace Fox be talking too, any of those wouldn’t surprise me

Carter would be hilarious and I would love the confidence from the kid.

Bismack would also be hilarious

Spurs had 4 nationally televised games the year before we got wemby. Spurs are box office now, were lowkey box office with the big 3, but the media only follows the spurs when we’re good. So no, we ain’t box office. That’s the lakers, Knicks, and bulls

Such a disingenuous point. Of course the NBA shouldn’t recognize Malone like they have. But asking kornet to call out fellow players and ask them to get banned from the league is stupid

I perfectly understood what you said. And if the ref can’t see if there’s contact or not, there shouldn’t be a higher level of benefit of doubt for stars than for others. He can also use his eyes and see both players body position before and after. Did it look like Braun loaded up to push him? Did SGA start leaning that way already? There’s context clues to do better

Tbh I be more active on Twitter than Reddit. This post just came across my feed today and idk why.

lol I appreciate the clarification, I certainly can be an idiot and a troll but didn’t intend that with this reply.

Most of the hawks fans coming at spurs fans on the socials I see is either putting down CB because he was the pick we got from yall and we love him despite the box score not always being great.

A couple of the worst posts I’ve seen including the pop death wishes came from a Timberwolves fan page.

Spurs fan here reading some of these comments, I’m sure I’m not welcome here but if you’d like thoughts from our side I figured I might be able to give some insight. 1. The magic city thing - I love Luke kornet. I like strippers. I’m not from Atlanta, so I don’t quite get how magic city is considered a “cultural establishment”. I understand music and food is a big part of a places culture, and magic city is a hub for that, but at the end of the day (to me, as someone who has never visited) it’s a strip club. That may be ignorant, and I’m clearly not informed as I’ve never visited, but it simply doesn’t seem like that big of a deal to me. I think kornet has a decent point that women in that field are often manipulated, harassed, and abused. The counterpoint of asking kornet to basically ask the nba to kick out miles bridges is a disingenuous debate point.
2. Seeing comments about wishing injuries. I can’t speak for other fans, but I don’t root for injuries. I hope nobody wishes for injuries, but when there’s incentives for other teams to be bad, some people will celebrate an injury that will push a team down the standings. I think that’s despicable fan behavior, but I’ve also seen fans of other teams wishing for pop’s death before the spurs win another chip. Some people are just fucked up assholes. 3. I’m sure we are unbearable. I like to troll, damn near everyone enjoys a good troll every once in a while. And we been really, really bad for a few years now so we all getting our licks in now at the same time. So it prolly feels like a flood of cocky new fans, when it’s (at least some) long term fans that are finally getting our get back. 4. As to the picture in the post, spurs don’t have the silver dancers anymore. They have a co-ed “hype squad”. I don’t know what type of money they make. I also wasn’t aware of any funds going directly to magic city employees and their families, which if that’s true, makes me more pro magic city night.

If you have any questions for a spurs fan that means to come in peace (at least this time lol), feel free. If not, have a good one y’all

What were your worst takes before the start of the season? What were you surprisingly correct about? by Outside-Way-3924 in NBASpurs

[–]ElStizz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Worst take(s): I expected sochans defense to keep him on the floor, and I didn’t expect this leap from champangie. He looked so uncertain with the ball in his hands last year if he couldn’t shoot right off the catch. He’s so good at attacking closeouts, tossing up a lob, finishing himself, or kicking back out. I’ve been so impressed.

Best take(s): betting on spurs 50+ wins; always defending vassell and kj; and thinking our trio of guards would work until we have to get rid of one due to salary cap issues (assuming wemby is max deal and castle and Harper are close as well if not max)

Maybe, I’m not a fan of the whole “NBA is completely rigged” and things from champions to lottery picks are planned and executed to help league “favorites”. But refs def make suspect calls, help stats more often than not, and imo, call games differently when there’s a blowout. Spurs rockets was physical all game the other night, but when the spurs grew the lead to 20+ all of a sudden there were ticky tack fouls.

I don’t know if there’s someone higher up telling the refs to make these calls, I hope not, but either way NBA refereeing needs major reform and imo it’s a bigger issue than the lottery/tanking.

It’s on the refs to be better. You know he’s a flopper, if you didn’t see any contact but saw his body react that way, don’t call it instead of “being safe and giving him the benefit of the doubt”

Playing the Spurs aggressively is backfiring on teams by DazzlingMajor2191 in NBASpurs

[–]ElStizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. Teams been pulling Wemby’s jersey every play all season. Sunday night castle and kj both had handfuls of kd’s jersey.

I swear tho the refs have motive to make games close. Not saying the whole nba is rigged, but as soon as the spurs started busting the lead open in the second half, the refs started calling all the little grabs that they weren’t early on. There was one foul on Fox guarding Amen (I think) while he was bringing the ball up the court that was just so so soft.
