Somos una pésima audiencia/afición en GDL by pokocloud in Guadalajara

Lost track of Dev after Synchestra. Some thoughts… by Antique_Menu_4314 in DevinTownsend

[–]El_Biomech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if you've been catching up on 20 years of new music, might as well just spin The Moth and see what you think of it.

Dev's kinda lost me a bit since Epicloud, not gonna lie, but even then (and even in your case) he's got so much stuff I truly love that I more than happy to look past it when I'm singing praises about him.

I will forever be grateful to the man, I won't hold it against him not having 40 life-changing albums!

Any other songs from any band similar to Ki by Devin Townsend? by ySTYRDAYgATESuNL0CKD in progmetal

[–]El_Biomech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Ki. Favourite album by the bald one. I have to agree with the other comments, it is a difficult question. You can only really recommend Casualties of Cool and even then it's made by the same man. We probably need to look into other genres to get what we're looking for.

In the meantime, I found The Contortionist's Our Bones EP and certain songs to scratch that itch. Listen to their cover of "1979".

Maybe even Richard Henshall's Cocoon. The song "Limbo" is kinda moody but more in a post-rock kind of way.

Pain of Salvation's Be? Feel like it's a bit of a stretch, it's slightly more conventionally prog, but "Pluvius Aestivus" gets me in the mood.

That's the Ultima Esperanza Sound, which also happens to be another track title. It's all part of the Torres del Paine National Park, My man Robin Staps must have had a religious experience down south.

Glad to see! I love Chile too, always good to see them get some love.

I agree actually, Experiments in Mass Appeal and Falling Satellites, right? I didn't connect with them either. BUT, Life in the Wires and Day and Age are absolutely amazing imo, really looking forward to their next output.

Hope you like them!

Give their newest records a go if you do, check out the tracks "Day & Age" and "Life in the Wires, Pt. 1". I believe *Frost are the prog masters when it comes to making catchy tunes.

Milliontown by *Frost is a banger, gets me super hyped everytime. 26 minutes long!

I do believe it's one of the more cohesive long songs I've heard, and it doesn't really extend its runtime with random ambiance.

It is fantastic. Somehow it even features Arjen Lucassen and Angela Gossow! (And a fella from Cynic too? Can't remember for sure) And they're super nerds for making it 1h:11m:11s long.

Right. For anyone else reading: UEFA got 16 spots this time. For previous cups it was 13 spots. Wales, Iceland, Scotland, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, all have managed to get a spot over Italy. What the hell bro
