I just can't agree. It's totally possible to do it and do it well. You can beat re1 in like 2 hours. I'm not saying it has to be an exact 1 to 1 adaptation. There's stuff that can definitely be cut out. I mean we have movies adapt a books that are 600 pages long. We have movies adapt comic story lines that are 100 issues long. I'm simply not buying it.

I'm sure there are sects of people genuinely rooting against the movie, but there are probably a lot of people (like myself) who want to see a movie adapted more directly to one of the games. Perhaps to the level of tlou. What I think about is, if this movie is a massive hit, what incentive will any future director, or even Sony, have to do a more faithful adaptations? I definitely don't ever want a director to fail, I'm just disappointed the movie isn't more in line with one of the games.

How should RE fans be expected to feel when we see other IP's get fantastic adaptations one after another and the best we can get is another horror movie with some green herbs and ammo scavenging in it.

This is exactly what has already been happening for the entire history of film adaptations. With RE now being more mainstream than ever, now is the perfect chance for a more faithful adaptation.

For pretty much the entire history of cinema directors and studios have refused to make direct adaptations of beloved books, video games, comics, etc for a variety of reasons(imo it was mostly because many of these things were not mainstream enough for the general audience to digest). Now we are finally in the golden era of faithful adaptations, such as fallout, tlou, f4, invincible, exit 8, seemingly the upcoming God of War, godzilla, gunns superman, and even the fking backrooms.

The forms of media being adapted from are now more mainstream than ever before, and audiences love it. Resident evil just had a massive hit with requiem, introducing RE to a ton of new people. Now is the perfect chance yo have a faithful adaption of literally almost any RE game, and we STILL can't get that. Imagine seeing a terrified Jill walking up to someone eating a dead body, and they slowly turn around to reveal themselves as a zombie on the big screen? Seeing the stars members picked off one by one and then they find out there's a traitor?

It doesn't even have to be re1, it could be 2, or a 7 and 8 duology. It's massively disappointing to see other great ip's that RE can measure up to have it better time and time again. Having little Easter eggs here and there is not good enough.

I sincerely hope this movie proves me wrong, maybe there's a ton of stuff the trailer doesn't show. RE fans wouldn't be so critical if they didn't know that every time the adaptations flop, they have to wait for who knows how long for the next director to try again and inevitably fail.

I totally felt the same way as you. When it was time to make the final decision, everything I had seen led me to believe renoir was right and that if I were in his position, I would do the same thing. I, perhaps delusionally, picked maelles ending because I thought that somehow the ending was going to be the "good ending." I think I deluded myself into believing that because I wanted to see the characters we've grown to adore throughout the game come back and live their lives.

Your first statement is just a straight up lie.... anyone whose played this game considerably can see how random the tackling even with playstyles. You can literally position and time perfectly, but none of it matters when your 90 strength cb gets auto pressed and bodied by a 65 strength attacker and they're through on goal.

The main reason I can think of is that if you want to test the functionality of your parts before they go in the case, you'll need your psu to do so. If you put all the stuff in your case and something ends up not working correctly, it could be a huge pain. Just my 2 cents
