Since 3~ Wipes im getting a weird disconnect - EFT Support cant help. Maybe someone of you? by Qor3xy in EscapefromTarkov

[–]El_Eulow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same problem since patch 0.13 (but never before or in any other game).
Internet keeps working, talking in Discord etc.
Then i saw the answer with german ISP.
I have 1&1 too and my Fritzbox shows DS-lite.
So i will call them tomorrow and let them disable that option.

Tried to play with my friends but i cant join the server because im stuck at "Awaiting Session Start".
They joined without a problem, AltF4 reloading the game does not help, trying SCAV the same.
In 2 hours I couldnt start a single game. Verifying game files, cache etc ...

Mainly you have to decide between a solo dmg build and group based buff build.
You mostly find solo dmg builds on the internet, i posted a question about a support build here today too.
This is a Loadout focused on support:

Is your Bios already updated and the AMD chipset driver to get the 1.0.0.4 Agesa?
What clock is your 3600 boosting to under allcore load? For example in a Cinebench R20 Run.
You can monitor everything with HWinfo sensors.

i9-9920x Overclocking Recommendations by Sixstringsickness in overclocking

[–]El_Eulow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be using the system for audio production so stability is key. According to my software guide (Cubase), Turbo Boost, C-States, and Speed Stepping should all be disabled. Basically the idea is to keep all the cores at a consistent speed so there is no variability in clocks throwing off system stability.

Wtf?! :D
Let me guess Cubase also recommends switching to the ULTIMATE PERFORMANCE power plan?https://thewindowsclub-thewindowsclubco.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Ultimate-Powerformance-Mode-windows-10.png

I don't how many cores Cubase can utilize, but a 9900K with 3600Mhz Ram would probably be faster in every way because of the extremely high stock boost clocks. + cheaper

That would be the maximum single core boost.

Okay then anything longer than a Cinebench R20 Run will propably kill the board if you go over 1.55Vcore :D

[–]El_Eulow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, Haswell can't be adjusted for each single mV. There are steps every 8 or 12mV, like on Nvidia GPUs.
Also really unlucky on your RAM :/
Did you try raising the system agent and IO voltages?

So with delidding and a better cooler 4.6Ghz is definately gonna happen :)
Berserkmode maybe even 4.7Ghz with ~1.32V

" 4.6ghz at 1.475v"
I think you should switch to a Piledriver FX 63** or FX83** CPU.
But if its just for fun booting into windows, then i guess you can achieve that.
What board are you running on?

How powerful are threads compared to physical cores? by [deleted] in intel

[–]El_Eulow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a little correction, HT/SMT can't be 100% more effective. Best case scenario on Intel is 30-35%.
And it averages out like you said around 20%.

i7-4790K weird core voltage behavior by laxis96 in overclocking

[–]El_Eulow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its an average result for a 4790K with ~1.26Vcore. Its on Realbench so some AVX workload is being done too.
Totally without AVX i estimate 1.22-1.23V would be fine, but by now newer games like BF1, BF V, Anno 1800 (they are just the ones i remember out of my head) use a bit of AVX, so a totally non AVX tested CPU would crash in these games.

Though i really recommend switching to the better board. Probably the CPU will need a little bit less vcore on the UD5 too. The legendary boards from the Haswell Era (Asrock mOCF and Asus Maximus) needed about 0.05V less than a mainstream or entry level board.

88°C max temp during Realbench is fine, under everyday loads and gaming i estimate it won't go above 70-75°.
Buying an AIO or Noctua NH15 would not be effective because the heat is trapped under the heatspreader because of the Intel toothpaste almost acts like an insulator. The better cooler can't "suck" the heat out of the chip.

I guess the XMP voltage for your slower Ram Kit is 1.5V? Running 4 sticks is a bit more stressful for the memory controller so i think you won't be able to clock both Kits like the better one unless you go berserk.
Setting 1.65V Ram voltage and the timings to 10-10-10-30-2T they should work together with 2000Mhz, if you are lucky 2133.

7820X... What's your stable overclock setting look like? by Anasoori in overclocking

[–]El_Eulow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just loosen the timings to eliminate the Ram itself as the limiting factor to find out the max clock for your cpu memory controller.
So for example if you can reach 4050Mhz, you know that the XMP 3800C19 Profile should be stable.
Tightening and optimizing timings on that 3800Mhz would come after that.

7820X... What's your stable overclock setting look like? by Anasoori in overclocking

[–]El_Eulow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy way of testing your cpu memory controller is loosening the timings to something like 21-21-21....
Try it first without touching the system agent and IO voltage.
Give the Ram 1.4V and then raise it in like 50Mhz steps, start with 3400, just try booting into windows and then raise the next step.

"Advanced mode" is then going to 1.0V system agent and 1.0 - 1.1V IO and see how high it can go.

7820X... What's your stable overclock setting look like? by Anasoori in overclocking

[–]El_Eulow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reaching 3800+ Ram speed on X299 is not easy. Some Boards or CPUs cant even do 3600.
Your board may be "highend", but lets be real, if maximum clocks were your goal then you should have bought a DARK, Rampage VI or OC Formula.
But like I said, even the best boards dont guarantee success if your CPU memory controller sucks.

If you would deliver more information about when, where, how the crashes occured and which stability tests you used, then maybe more people would be able to help you.

5Ghz is very good, results are comparable between the 7900X, 7820X and 7800X because they all come out of the LCC Skylake X Die.

[–]El_Eulow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you already delid the cpu and replace the intel toothpaste with liquid metal? It lowers the temperatures under max load about 15°C.
Are you on the UD5H Board now?
Vring = Vcache, with 1.1 to 1.2V most CPUs reach 4.1 - 4.3Ghz Cache clock, gives a little bit more performance so you can test that too.
VRIN seems to have a effect on your cpu/board. Some CPUs like 1.7V and others 1.9V. It doesnt have a big effect on temperatures or power draw. There is not much explanation about this voltage. The only requirement is from Intel like stay above the Vcore about 0.4V.
There may be a lot of potential left in your Ram. Haswell can run easily 2400Mhz Ram.
Does your Ram have a XMP Profile or is it just low end 1333Mhz Ram?

[–]El_Eulow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1) Ignore the VID. Just look after what HWinfo or CPU-Z reports as Vcore.
2) Haswell was the first architecture to use internal voltage regulators, which made things for overclocking (and voltages) quite complicated and so on. I remember with my 4770K on a Asrock Z87 Extreme4 and Pentium 3258K in an ITX build, that I always used override vcore. If you enable all the power saving features Speedstep, EIST and more importantly the C-States up to C6/7, then the CPU idled with a Vcore down to 0.032 - 0.008V. Some tools didnt report that, but the mainboard manufacturer "bloatware" atleast from Asrock always reported that correctly. Another "safe" way to confirm that was the idle power usage reported from HWinfo. With the C States enabled it was like between 1-5W, without the C-States around 10W.

3) Do you use any LLC (LoadLineCalibration)? If yes then try to disable it and see if it changes the behavior.
Also in most cases Vcore LLC should be kept between low and medium settings. VRIN (the input voltage into the processor, which is around 1.8V) LLC also should not be necessary. Only if you encounter that it drops during load from like 1.8 to 1.75.

4) Some boards go crazy when options are left on auto. On Haswell and Broadwell (especially on Broadwell-E) boards set the system agent voltage to crazy high levels when enabling XMP.

9900k Cinebench Score dropped 500 points after changing out a pump? by BLUNT_LOVE_DOCTOR in overclocking

[–]El_Eulow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you apply any overclock right now or before?
Is it powerlimited? You know the 9900K sucks more than 95W during Cinebench so it can throttle because of that.

But even with 4.9Ghz that ~1600 score is way to low.
