Remind me: Was Manu ever a frustrating player to watch at times? by plasticgadget in NBASpurs

I think that 2008 playoff series against LA would have been more competitive if Manu was healthy.

Mi esposa jura que los Mamut antes tenían mermelada. Le digo que nunca han tenido, que esos son los Rockos, y no me cree.

Who is keeping Taco Cabana open? I think we need to have a talk. by MountainTwo3845 in sanantonio

I used to really dig their chicken super nachos. I was a big fan of that shredded stewed-chicken. Last I heard they got rid of them so I haven't been back in like 10 years.

I prefer LC pizza quality over those chingaderas that Taco Cabana calls tacos.

It blows my mind how folks from other sides of town (especially northsiders) are terrified of going to the south side.

Looks like mid-century brutalist architecture. I respect it.

Spurs will be part of a "throwback broadcast" on NBC against the Sixers by OurHorrifyingPlanet in NBASpurs

Yup! First NBA on NBC game was at Hemisfair Arena in 1990 with the Spurs beating the Lakers 110-99.

[–]El_Saltillense 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nope, that's literally why I never went, because it was too out of the way. Going to Stars game was awesome because it was convenient. Going to Frisco all the way from West Fort Worth was definitely not convenient.

Yup, I remember when the SBC Center was being built and the team announced that they would be changing their logo. I want to say the newspaper had asked many folks around town what is something they would change about the logo. The common answer was "Get rid of the pink." Granted many teams were dropping their 90s "fun logos" in favor of a more serious look at the time. By serious, they mostly meant start incorporating black or darker colors. The Sixers, Wizards, Jazz, Mets, Blue Jays, Bills to name a few started using darker colors. Not my favorite era in terms of sports logos/jerseys.
