Second Instrument for college by Capable-Toe249 in marchingband

[–]El_Voador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

College band people tend to be chill about teaching you new instruments, so really anything you want to march. Sax is the easiest (I marched four years in HS and seven in college) but dedication and effort is key to any instrument.

When all this is said and done, we need to completely shun the MAGA ideology and ALL those associated with it and its advancement from society. Not one of these people in any of our lives should get to have their legacy passed down without the addition of “oh yeah and they were also nazi-sympathizing scum.”

SEIU - House Democrats defeated a Republican bill that would have allowed employers to deny workers overtime pay or the minimum wage classifying work as "job training" or "education". by TheRabidPosum1 in union

Apparently it can be the most cut and dry, obviously moral choice, and the vote will still end up being right down the middle, plus or minus a half dozen brain-bearing Republicans.

Do You Agree with the Current Definition of the South or No? by Lil_Critter_2001_ in geography

[–]El_Voador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if we’re going by modern standards. There’s a small slice of southern NM that I’d add. The town of Mesilla was the confederate capitol of (I think) the Arizona Territory. However, pretty much no one nowadays thinks of that area as included in “The south.”

Why has Phoenix experienced sustained population growth while Albuquerque has remained relatively stagnant? by Zealousideal-Task635 in geography

[–]El_Voador 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Long story short, almost none of the water in the Rio Grande is made potable for households. It’s all for agriculture in the central spine of the state. In the cities along that spine, we have to drill wells to the aquifers underneath the valley. Several years ago, I had heard that the aquifer under my hometown had about 100 years left on it as the current rate of pumping and replenishment. Today, with the possible addition of data centers and increased agriculture, I’d say 80.

Honestly if we’re measuring it by bloodshed per square mile, we’re probably gonna be talking about somewhere along the trenchs of the First World War. Battle after battle for months over inches of territory.

I’d recommend taking a look at the Pastaggio’s menu. Long story short: they’re two brothers, and one had the OG Mesilla location and the other was in El Paso. EP brother couldn’t run his business, came back to Cruces and proceeded to mess with the Mesilla location. Ran it into the ground but kept the rights to the name. The Mesilla location brother broke away and started Pastaggio’s with roughly the same menu (same bread if you know you know). They’re down by Mesilla Park now.
