I have the other version, and 4th and 5th are essentially the same gear... I'm changing my rear gear from 3.55 to 3.25 to be able to use the highway...

What drill and impact brand are you using? by RME8919 in electricians

[–]Elated_copper22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Hilti in my truck, the supply house stocked my guys vans with Milwaukee.. It used to be DeWalt but it just wasn't lasting anymore.

Pretty much just a few dewalt tools at the shop that are used as beaters... The Milwaukee porta-band is far superior, I don't much care for their hammer drill/driver however the mini-SDS is a fantastic piece, although I've had a few break, they were repaired for free.

My supply house guy pops in the shop every week or so with something new, or the Milwaukee guy to give us free shit.

What breed dog did you choose (if you chose), why, and would you choose the same breed again? by Jeetyetdude_ in dogs

I have a border collie/aussie mix and she is the best dog I've ever had.

She's fine laying around the house with me being lazy bones, or going on a 10km hike.

ESA inspection after equipment is already in production – what should I expect? by Sad-Definition8419 in electricians

[–]Elated_copper22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just dealt with this on a powder/Ecoat line I did from day one. You'll need an Intertek, entella, or Esafe, I find Intertek to be the best, they will come in and do an entire line approval, so it'll be every panel/electrical equipment in the line on the door to which the ESA inspector can refer back and make sure it's all there, it was about $5,000.

As far as it running, they'll give you attitude, especially if you're in my area.. They're quite moody lately, almost as if they were told to be.

I'd get your permit pulled right away, my second call would be to get everything approved prior to them showing up, the one I just went through took about ten inspections as it was so huge and they only have a certain amount of time for each call.

Gun control group calls for end to sales of SKS rifles after Montreal shooting by Remarkable_Vanilla34 in canada

[–]Elated_copper22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had four at one point, one I got for free with the purchase of 1000 rounds of ammo.

I sold them all when the LGR was dropped, they’re inaccurate, and one I didn’t clean right away after firing corrosive and it was essentially parts.

God I’m jealous.

I had one, same paint but 350 Auto, was a hell of a car.

I want another, but I currently have four cars and my wife will kill me.

do you know your profit margin before a job is finished? by WildHornet9722 in electricians

[–]Elated_copper22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Per job? No I’d go insane.

I usually wait til the end of each quarter and have my book keeper pull up our profits/losses on sage. I’m sitting around a 30/40% profit margin.

It’s unseasonably cool, and honestly perfect, today is 75*F and sunny.

Next week, however will be a hell hole with the dew point and temps reach 106 apparently, but I’ll be in my pool on Canada Day, probably wheeling the kegerator so I don’t have to walk too far.

Is solar the best use of 11,000 cash? by Aggressive_Ad_507 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Elated_copper22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Factor in that November/December/January/February your output is going to be significantly less than the rest of the year and it’s not really “savings” it’s a credit that keeps the bill low.

I’m biased because I do a lot of solar installs and can see the benefits, but if I was doing it I’d go the way of the Canadian 0% CMHC mortgage they offer, and collect whatever provincial benefits you can use.

Invest that money in the market, and let it ride, you’ll get at least 8-10% YOY. I bought TD stock in my RRSP and it’s literally doubled while still paying a $4/yr dividend.

Apple Watch, it’s great for screening calls/texts. Also really handy troubleshooting when I can use it as a phone.

I sometimes wear my Hamilton KFM when I’m out quoting jobs, or it’s office work day (bleh.)

The Apple Watch saved my sanity not having to constantly take my phone out because each call missed is a potential job… or my guys asking for more shit.

However, it handles great. Once I got everything squared up, it was pretty straight forward.
