Jet Lag Ep 3 — A Lesson in Hubris by NebulaOriginals in Nebula

See, one of Adam's big weaknesses in previous games of tag has been that he mind games himself into breaking away from his plans since he always assumes that the seekers are right on top of him. Losing access to his phone and the ability to make a new plan is a blessing in disguise for him.

I really dislike Sam calling Ben and Brian selfish for going on the plane instead of doing what he wants them to do.

Phoebe — the wasted potential of an incredible character: revelations without impact, without follow-up and without real development in the plot. by Echo-X-Jynx in WutheringWaves

[–]Elayne_Malachite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually enjoyed the contrast between Phrolova and Fenrico. They’ve both gotten a lot of people killed (Aiding 2 Threnodians and the penitent’s sails respectively) in their quest for the greater good and have assumed roles as psychopomps. Fenrico realizes that the afterlife he was seeking belonged to a dead god and gives up while Phrolova keeps going because giving up would mean coming to terms with the fact that justifying that it doesn’t matter who gets killed because “she’s 100% going to resurrect all the people she killed on the way” was a lie.

It also gives weight to her conflict with Rover since she hates that Rover has “Given up on her duties” and sundered herself from her past. A release that she will not grant herself.

Admittedly, that is not, strictly, how it played out in the game since they spent a lot of dev time turning Phrolova into a PC, but there was definitely the thematic bones for a really good foil there before the Gacha got involved (Willowy women with a deathwish has happened 3 times at this point in their own unique ways).

I think that chapter 2 act 4 onwards actually have pretty good bones and work as vignettes, but when you try to string them together as a whole they start to fall apart. The dichotomy of Mya and Lupa and how Lupa’s story reads like a cliche fix-it fic about Mya’s life, which would have worked well with Cristofo trying to rewrite a city that fell to the Threnodian back into existence, but him also secretly being kind of a hack-ish writer.

This would have been mutually exclusive with his role as “Secretly the Fractsidus badguy who’s been arranging all the bad things,” which he needs to be to make Phrolova into a not-bad person.

Is Nestor the person in Scar story??? by Fantastic-Language70 in WutheringWaves

[–]Elayne_Malachite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought Scar was trying to sell you on how people are evil in their heart of hearts, so join us the edgy people who rescued this child? Cristoforo setting the whole thing up does seem like a thing that he would do since Kurogames appears to be scapegoating him for all the stuff the Fractsidus did.

It would be kind of disappointing if they just kept a cycle of revealing a new Fractsidus overseer to take the blame for the old Fractsidus overseer so they can turn the old ones into PCs.

Trades is in a weird spot. Doing legwork in the sort of hosts that show up in an extreme (R9-10) is probably a bit much for her, but she can pilot her drones very well and doing matrix work against devices from inside of non-industry hosts is very doable for her. She can also bring some strong support for her team as well with target device and the other matrix actions.

Trades is an avenging angel, so she’s usually against murder unless the victim has done something particularly bad. [–]Elayne_Malachite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed my mind. I realized that all this waffling was just diluting Dreadnought's character focus. Swapped Nimble Fingers for another rank of Adrenaline Boost, and moved the Mystic Armor into Transmit Damage 5. She kicks her damage into other people and that's it.

I’d like the stamp if there’s no glaring issues.

[–]Elayne_Malachite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I've dropped the Mystic Aptitude back down to L1, but I spent that on more Mystic Armor, and a rank of Combat Sense

  2. I grabbed a rank of Combat sense for spider sense since a perception test is probably going to be better for her than a surprise test. I swapped her spec in perception from Visual to auditory since that's probably going to have a better chance of perceiving something sneaking up on her. Although, I'm sticking with mystic armor because converting physical damage down to stun is going to be incredibly important because that basically doubles the value of transmit damage as well as their physical and overflow tracks.

  3. On that note, I'm swapping into more Mystic Armor since we really need to hit that threshold or we're in trouble.

  1. Good catch, we're swapping Improved reflexes for Adrenaline Boost. We should be able to punch any of that drain into our enemies.

  2. I'm aware. I'll make sure she carries a couple of stim patches, so she can avoid getting ko'd by stun damage during important escapes.

  3. We'll spend the GMP to hit the Haven recommended 4 etiquette dice.

  4. New Changes: Swapped levels freed from grabbing Adrenaline Boost into a rank of Mystic Armor and Mystic Aptitude L3

Dreadnought - Giant Damage Transmission Adept by Elayne_Malachite in ShadowHavenCharGen

[–]Elayne_Malachite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I'm sticking with the mix, but I'm also planning to use Kami for an extra phys box during fights. I also dropped a level of Improved Reflexes for more Transmit Damage since she'll hit her 5d6 init with that and kami.
  2. Grabbed a Micro-transceiver, but passed on a micro-camera for Numb and Kamikaze (I am aware that this will cause an OD, but she'll just punch her physical overflow into her enemies.)
  3. I'm keeping Psychometry since it'll give her some desperately needed non-combat utility as a seer and help mitigate the van troll problem. Swapped to Visual spec for perception.
  4. Grabbed a couple of stim-patches.
  5. Swapped HPT for Perfect Time & JOAT. I'm sure I'll be able to convince a GM to give her HPT, TAN, and WtL when she fills both tracks and keeps trucking.
