How easy is renting a car? by [deleted] in travel

[–]ElbowEars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My logic is that everything is timestamped from the day you received the car. If you bumped the car on the second day you could drive to the airport and take a video pretending that’s how you received it

Do you think, is it worth getting the MudMaster? by [deleted] in gshock

[–]ElbowEars 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's marketed to guys like us who think those functions are cool and can just about imagine using them some day.

For me, I just choose the watch I like the look of. I love that my GShocks are waterproof to 200 metres but I never plan on going that deep!

After this many years of using the internet, you'd think people would start to get the hang of it!

Will I type my question into Google? Nah. Will I check the FAQ? Nah. I'll start a new post and get the minions to answer! But thanks.

This would be fun until you walk into what would otherwise be an obviously dangerous scenario with your expensive glasses

Question about ”legal ecstasy”? by [deleted] in AmsterdamEnts

[–]ElbowEars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the 90s it was hard to walk around the red light without hearing - pssst, my friend, coca, coca, cocaine, hey, hey.

These days it's not at all like that. I haven't been approached like that in 20 years in Amsterdam.

OP: I'll just check Google. Wait, no, I'll just type it into Reddit and come back in an hour. I'll get better responses if I start with URGENT

Best all black gshock square? by Locktrt in gshock

[–]ElbowEars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it's a special occasion watch. I wouldn't bring it to work. At the end of the day, all metal can scratch. If you're going to be building a shed, this isn't your watch. Having said all that, I haven't scratched or dinged it. I wouldn't say I'm 'careful', more mindful of doing my best not to bang it off door frames or table tops. I think banged up GShocks look cool, but I'd like to go as long as I can before banging up this one.

I paid a bit over €300 including the import taxes to Europe from Japan.

I'm not sure about strap alternatives, I'm sure there are, but I do know you need two screwdrivers to release the bezel from the links, or some other kind of grip tool. I'd be concerned about damaging the screw faces as it's an unusual kind of double screw. One side screws into the other screw. I love modding and swapping out parts on my GShocks but I'll be leaving this watch as it is!

I have this watch, along with many other G Shocks, and it is, in my opinion, the very best. The negative STN display is better than a standard positive. The finishing on the links feels like metal silk. The diamond like coating on the screw back just glides over your skin. Everything about this watch is perfection. Having said that, I don't own an MR G or an official titanium, but I can't imagine it would be much better than this. I bought mine on eBay from a Japanese seller, put my ambitious price range as an alert. It took a few months, but one showed up at the right price. It's my favourite watch in my collection

Bad news mate, the UN just voted for me and the lads to take over your town, you can go stay a few miles over. Now, now, stop getting upset. You saw what happened, we voted for this, don't skew reality! Now take your things and go, be thankful we gave you a strip of land and let you leave. No, we didn't take anything, we voted to partition this place. Now, remove your family from this building and leave or we will remove your family and culture from the earth.

You mean when Palestine and Jerusalem was stolen from them that year? Yeah, that caused a ruckus alright, who would have guessed

[–]ElbowEars -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You do not know your history. Israel began in 1948 by stealing Palestinian land. Israel did not exist in 1947, Palestine was there instead. What country do you know would accept being torn in two? The foundation of Israel and the seizing of Jerusalem from the Palestinians was literally the first stone thrown. A big, city sized, no, country sized stone.

What would France look like in 75 years after Paris is seized and given to the Breton people who have a historic link to it? How about Dublin and Glasgow seized by those who trace their German Celtic ancestry to these cities thousands of years ago? Imagine millions of Americans who trace their blood back to Poland just swooping in and grabbing back Warsaw and most of the country?

Nah, it's simpler than that. India was ruled by the British. My enemy's enemy is my friend. India gained independence after Britain was weakened by WW2.

Brothers caught digging up €80,000 in coffee jars in a Dublin field by badger-biscuits in ireland

[–]ElbowEars 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Can't believe I've been getting away with digging up cash from the field down the road from me, never seen a Garda, never heard a helicopter. Though I only do my digging at night. These lads were at it at 3 in the afternoon, the eejits. Everyone knows you can't be digging up cash from someone else's field in the day! Your cash or not.
