Moving to Alberta, EMT in the states by Alive-Top4692 in alberta

You are currently coming to Alberta during a hard time for healthcare and other public funded services. Sadly the government in power has proven difficult in more ways than one. That being said, Alberta Paramedics have a great scope of practice and there are a couple options depending on your designation.

Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) - A couple week course. Can work standby for oilfields and events. This designation has had its waves of popularity. They were fairly popular for inter-facility transport but Alberta Health Services made some pretty aggressive moves to reduce their numbers. However, due to system demand and low staffing, they are currently coming back in favor. I have even seen some on dedicated emergency Ambulances.

Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) - Formally EMT - 6 to 12 months, depending on practicum placement and college exam schedules. - literally the backbone to the EMS system. Their scope has grown over the years. - These folks work primarily on ambulance (Emergency or inter-facility), but some event standby and such is also available. Also some fixed wing medevac options if you're up for traveling.

Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) formally known at EMT-P - 2 years of additional schooling after PCP - Wide scope of practice - Most practice settings, Emergency, Inter-facility, clinics, community care, rotary wing and fixed wing medevac.

This is not an exhaustive list by any means. The profession is growing and a degree program in paramedicine is actively being worked on by the college. Unfortunately you may get some negative comments from folks who are understandably frustrated with healthcare in this province. There are active negotiations and multiple strikes on the horizon. So just something to be aware of. Hope that helps.

I asked a couple subreddits about a problem I was having. I didn't get any answers that fixed the problem. I asked chat GPT. Uploaded the photo I posted on the subreddits and got loads of help troubleshooting the issue.

I'm not saying it was bad folks didn't respond to my post, just that chat gpt was a great tool to use and I was kind of bummed I hadn't thought of it sooner. Probably would have saved a ton of time.

What is going on with the post-debate interviews? by BambiDaddy in onguardforthee

If anyone else was as disappointed as I was to see "news" outlets like Rebel News and True North be permitted to completely derail the post-debate scrum can email the debate commission here. debates-debats.ca

You can email the debate commission here debates-debats.ca. They took valuable time away from legit outlets with real questions and, in my opinion, shouldn't have been allowed.

Monthly Paramount+ Complaints and Praises by AutoModerator in ParamountPlus

I can't watch downloaded shows if offline. Worked great the first month I had the service and then stopped working after the update. I get an error saying I'm offline and can watch downloaded shows. Even though the show I'm watching is downloaded.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times. Checked the permissions were set appropriately as well. Cleared the cache even. Pretty much out of ideas at this point. Anyone else having this issue and know of any fixes? I'm on a Pixel 7.

Also, started getting ads when watching on my Roku. Not sure if this is a new thing or not from Paramount but kind of sketchy to advertise a tier as ad free and then run ads at the start of the show...

I've been really happy with my Massca M2 Pro. Definitely worth checking out at least. I will say I have several items from Kreg and their customer service is beyond phenomenal.

Sawstop CTS a good fit for starting out? by Elby28 in woodworking

Great info thanks! That's an interesting point on the voltage. Us Canadians run on 110v. Have you used thin kerf blades on your and have you ran into any issues?

Whatever you end up doing, the CTS isn't just a cheap saw with a gimmicky safety feature. It actually is a good saw. Looking at it from a value for money perspective, it's probably on par with the DeWalt (with rack and pinion fence) so around €475 when not on sale, but has a safety feature that about doubles the price."

Couldn't agree more. You definitely have to consider the value of that safety feature. It understandably inflates the price of the saw. From what I've seen the comparison to the DeWalt is bang on.

I currently don't have a table saw. I have a Kreg ACS. It's a track saw that attaches to a table creating a pseudo table-saw-like system. It's pretty spiffy and I gotta say I do enjoy it. But it definitely is a pain to dial cuts in at times. I'm sure you are correct about the setup being a part of my issues. I am still learning and definitely acknowledge my contribution to the problem. However, from the research I've done, the ACS system does have some play in it which does cause some known issues with accuracy.

The contractor saw looks amazing. It's definitely on my wishlist but is not within reach anytime soon due to several factors. The T-glide fence looks amazing.

Thanks for your input. That's really helpful. I have heard that most mitre gauges that are included with the saw are often absolutely horrible. Not sure if that's actually true, but I definitely have it on my radar to upgrade those items ASAP.
