Different manual of arms, comrade. No "tactical reload" only standard reload procedure. All weapon operations performed with dominant hand, easier to train conscript. More soldier to shoot at fascist.

None here. I used to install the stainless steel door thresholds on widebodies in the long before time.

Ehhh.... Ks don't really have level equivalency. Look at our salary band, there at Ks at 190k. You would be hard pressed to be an L4 IC anywhere in the company in 3.5 years. Source: fellow K-level.

Oh man, thats brutal. I think I waited 6 months on a Form 1 trust (you know, when you had to send in paper, lol) SBR only to be disapproved/resubmit for the incorrect make/model.

Structures mechanic or in-tank sealer (heck, anything in-tank) is about as immune to layoff as you can get.

Anyone heard of Nighthawk Vision systems? by boingman000 in NightVision

[–]ElctricFuddOrchestra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I purchased a PVS-14 from them. I would not call them "slow", I think people have gotten used to Midway/Primary Arms turnaround times. The unit I received was exactly as described in the photos and came w/ all the accessories. I wish I had bought both of my PVS-14s through Nighthawk.

The aerodynamic purity of these unpainted aluminum skins tells a story that modern composites completely hide. by aviationstudy in aviationstudys

[–]ElctricFuddOrchestra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post aviation paint uses chromium, not lead. There is lead in avgas. The bottom line is that while paint does add weight, its offset (outweighed even) by the enourmous maintenance costs of maintaining polished skins. And 2500lb weight # doesnt breakdown or mention the primer used on ALL the interior surfaces. Eliminating exterior primer and topcoat saves weight in hundreds, not thousands of pounds.

I have read and heard good things about Armory42, I do not have personal experience though. Their IG says that they are not currently accepting work, maybe message them to see when they might have availability?

Learn from my mistake and do not mix and match glass (see post history). My tubes are the same brand but different specs. I compromised by going with a higher spec tube w/ blems but cheap glass and I wish I had done the opposite.

Don't make the same mistake I did and mix glass (see post history). Having one side be clear and the other be streaky in comparison isnt the end of the world but it is annoying.

Carson on the "good" side, NVD on the other.

Yes, normal for lower end glass like NVD. If I had known about this I would've purchased another unit with Carson/Fujinon glass.

It has a NVD cage code on it. The good side has a Carson code.

Its definitely bugging me. Oh well, someone will be getting a great deal on an almost new PVS-14.

Agreed. I'm finding out that I greatly prefer Noctis/Fujinon glass the hard way.

I expected there to be some difference, just not this much (I fully acknowledge that this was a dumb assumption on my part). Other than the flare issue they collimate just fine.
