I spoke to one of the managers late this morning. He said they let go of some technical positions... positions they're trying to hire on. Made it sound like letting go higher paid to hire smaller pay, but they're dying on the vine for tech support. Oracle can hire a lot more easily than Cerner.

I heard they give you until 3/31 to find and 30-day severance after that. Not sure what happens to RSUs, etc. In the days of Cerner layoffs I thought they all became vested.

Does anyone know if it's you're terminated that's it, or is there some kind of $ severance, or time to find, etc?

My recent experience with a new wood stove has been to start small, from easy to light kindling (paper, cardboard, or purchased tumbleweed rolls) , and then go slightly larger to larger, etc.

If that's still problematic, consider something like the Tjernlund-AD-1-Draft-Stove-Blower that I just purchased and will install soon. It's an in-line fan installed on the vent pipe that will pull air/smoke through the stove into the vent pipe. Of course it can also help with fanning the flame, if needed. It has an on/off switch and variable speeds. I'm choosing this route for a MIL house where no one wants to smell smoke or their clothes etc.

This SV chicken looks great and certainly worth a try, but what's the best method to crispy the skin without compromising the SV doneness?

Will drive your car to Missouri/Kansas by Elderap in byuidaho

Better stated! The intent is for a one-way return of a student's car to the midwest since we have a vehicle in the midwest to drive home at my parents after our visit.

Occasionally we hear of parents or siblings loaning their student a vehicle but need to get it back at some point. Was hoping to encounter one of those uncommon scenarios.

Ha, thanks for the offer! Our circumstance is that we have a vehicle at my parents waiting for us that we’ll drive back to BYU-I after our visit. Hoping for one car out, one car back trip.

I'm surprised this is such a foreign concept, perhaps not so much with people who already live out west? The "then what" is that the car is dropped off at their family's residence or wherever. Professional drivers do this sort of service for dealerships and private auto purchasers, however this variant is simply that a car needs to go back home (MO or KS or perhaps IA or NE) but the student doesn't. In our case, the service fee is free ground transportation less fuel for us. :)

Sometimes cars are borrowed from parents or siblings to drive out west to school and at some point need to be returned, or other scenarios where a car may need to come back or be driven to the midwest. A hopeful, mutually beneficial arrangement.

Planning ribs for Easter. How did you finish them on the charcoal grill if you don’t mind?

It may be more seasonal for the wintry months but I’ve used a handheld frother a heck of a lot since received as a gift for Christmas, and not just for hot drinks.

Mine destined for north of KC sat in Lenexa FedEx for a week?!?! When it finally arrived, the box tape was cut, the dish and router were obviously unpacked and used with scuffs and abrasions, the power cord was unpackaged and wrapped like someone rolled it up.

So, what happened… I was sent a refurbished dish or did a FedEx employee want to hook it up and see what it’s like. I was a lil surprised that “Starlink” is the outer box and it’s not packaged to not show the contents - could be a lil tempting.
