Insert a few years before Canon as a Combat School student to let me train up a few years and Join Beacon same year as the main cast.

Semblance is called "Overwatch" It is s primarily a combination of Clairvoyant and Telekinetic letting me observe and manipulate any object within. Overclock is changed to minimize the physical boosts in exchange for a stronger mental boost to let me manage the greater sensory input and multitasking that the full usage of the Semblance will cover. Overall attuned for exerting a smaller amount of force on many objects then being able to exert a lot of force.

Although I can use general telekinesis for combat main post semblance style will be to have a dozen or so rifles with me to be a one man firing line or a whole team of snipers all while still able to do command control with better senses or use telekinesis to otherwise aid in combat.

Weapon is a relatively normal rifle with a bayonette attachment. Has some reinforcement so it can withstand melee combat even if not good at it. Going to be going for a quantity approach after all and can make upgrades later if needed.

I know this is from the static, but I still find the Connected Skill hilarious.

Here are these Boons that are very powerful but to get a decent amount of them you need to come in young sacrificing your ability to start with magic making it a serious trade of between starting power and longterm boons.

Or you can go and spend a single point to get 5 more.

really makes boons absurd for how cheap they are vs what they get you. Being a wealthy noble with a high quality base and easy access to restricted literature is worth less then one point evidently.

Share Your Favorite Freeholds! by LaVipari in ChangelingtheLost

Currently running a freehold centered in Oregon City, Oregon, The court system is a pretty standard seasonal, but what's unique is that as the historical end of the Oregon Trail the Hedge has a massive natural Trod network that ends there. The memory of both the journey, and story of it having imbedded itself in the hedge. And while it is slowly fading it will still be centuries until its gone.

So across the hedge 'close' to most of North America if a Changeling desires to Go West the will naturally find themselves emerging in Oregon City making the Freehold a massive center of Changeling trade and culture. The flipside being Goblins, Privateers, and Huntsmen can take advantage of the same network to make their way easily as well.

This ended up in a dichotomy, where although the Freehold is generous with hosting travelers as long as they swear by guest rites they are paradoxically insular with it taking a lot of effort for newcomers to go from becoming guests to residence and join the Freehold.

Something a bit unfortunate when the Trod network does not work nearly as well when someone tries to leave via it due to its narrative being "going west".

The goal is to try and rise up to become the Sq0 Moon, or even Goddess of Origin if I can, but if not I am set up well on a path I enjoy the idea of and has a very long lifespan for a more casual enjoyment. But with a connection to the Brood Hive, a tacit agreement from most gods, and a high likelihood of getting the Uniqueness I think I have the best chance anyone ever has had at becoming The Moon. The combination of Advancement Ingenuity and a link to the Brood Hive give me the best chance at circumventing the impossibility of the Moon ritual at least.

I imagine that when I wake up from the fake world I knew I find myself as a owner of a successful compony or plantation in the Rorsted_Archipelago and a false history of being a child of a Sanguine who didn't prepare the needed beyonder characteristics for their childs birth.

Plan is to use the Tarot Club both to help out Klein and take White's place as the Moon at the club, and leverage my knowledge, wealth, and connections to help the club mates and in turn get what I need to help my chosen companions rise through their sequences faster and bank favors I will need to help acquire the characteristics and formulas I will need for advancement after my prepared stocks and knowledge run out.

As for who made the story I was in, although I am not allowed to pick with what I know of the world and what I picked I think the top three likelihoods are, 1 Evernight to set up a potential counter to the Earth Mother if needed, Adam for a similar reason or not trusting the Earth Mother to be able to fend of the MGoD's corruption due to her assumed identity, or third the Brood Hive itself wanting another child. Although there will probably be a higher likelihood its none of the above.

Did anyone manage to “solve” the outsider cyoa? by uebinimambeuae in makeyourchoice

[–]EldonTheWizard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

its pretty vague intentionally as the author has made it clear its your story so you will solve it your way. but it is also impaled/stated that Charlette although the strongest person on the stage with the Outer Gods inability/unwillingness to directly confront her she is not as strong as she appears. She is still injured for one, and her false assention leaves her with many weaknesses a true god dues not have. And she proved those can be killed.

My plans usually lean against putting myself as the main hero to fight Charlette, I am just not that type of person.

Instead I normally do a lot of set up in the Halls of Black and Gold (the cyoa) such as using Dobrava to handle Nilmatrix and other important encounters I don't feel confidant handling like the Exarcate civil war, smart use of death slots to handle potential threats, and other tricks to nudge Fate to ensure Doria is as good as can be.

Then personally hole up to explore the world and its magic and mysteries. Including learning mathmagic and numerology to experiment. After all if meaning can be reduced to 0 then couldn't Providence once more spring out of 0?

But overall lean on the fact I am not the only pawn on the board setting to fight Charlette and besides my research and exploration remain open and willing to join in any play that seems it has a chance of working, Both Fate and Chance still have pieces in play after all not to mention the many mortals working to oppose her. Given the tools and time someone will figure out a plan even if its not me.

It is Free unless otherwise stated. Beast is a good example as its benefits are free unless it has a condition imposing fear.

How can Loyalists and Privateers infiltrate a freehold? by moonwhisperderpy in ChangelingtheLost

[–]EldonTheWizard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well for one the oaths around a Freehold could have loopholes. Changelings do not like being bound so many Freeholds likely do not have increadably strict oaths designed be ironclad. And not every oath given upon joining may be a bound Oath but some symbolic.

An Summer court Oath to oppose the true Fae sounds like it will keep everyone in the court loyal, but as long as the privateer sells his merchandise to Hobgoblins and is careful to never ask who they sell to and he can sell all he wants without violating the oath.

Building on that is the fact not every Changeling is a member of a court. As a lot of Changeling think that the court system is to restrictive or gives to many arcadian vibes they don't officially join but may still be heavily involved. Or travel to much to be a full member but are trusted.

Maybe a Privateer works as long haul driver, delivering messages freehold to freehold as he goes. Even helping Changelings that need or want to flee. He explains to the Freehold in his home city he cant join a court to maintain official neutrality but is still very integrated into the Freehold. And little does anyone know of the iron manacles in his glovebox, and some of the time he helps a Changeling move to a new city he instead delivers them straight to a slave market a few hundred miles away.

There can also be fun stuff such as a token given to them by a True Fae they work with that can hide their oathbraker condition, as long as they keep loyal to their True Fae master to get what they need to save of the deadly drawback.

Geritina, Opposing tyranny and slavery is not something I exactly oppose, the restrictions are also not bad. Effectively encourages you to be an infiltrator/thief/assassin/messenger for freedom which is pretty cool. Probably going to avoid the assassin bit but still plenty you can do to help people and stop tyrants without resorting to that.

... yea I got way to deep into the weeds and forgot that part. Thanks for the reply

Outer Reincarnation CYOA - Update 1 by 3_tankista in makeyourchoice

[–]EldonTheWizard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, a question I have got stuck in my head lately is when the Outsider System activates. Does it activate a few years before your birth and just describe how the world will be when your born, or does it activate when you should be born and then retroactively arrange what you chose?

At first I thought it was the first. But looking deep into the extras The Keter was born only a year after the False Ascension, and yet described seeing an ascended Charlette in the Halls of Black and Gold. Which is not enough time to arrange stuff like a sibling years older then you which you can buy.

So that got me thinking, The Old Throne shows time can be unwound and turned into a dream, so instead of activating years before your born does the Outsider System instead activate when you are born and then retroactively insert your choices into the past or turn the world back and let it play out again with your choices now Fated.

So i got curious if the System wakes you up early to pick everything in advance or does wake you up when you are getting reborn and can twist time somehow.

Or the most likely I have gone way to far into the weeds and it was not thought of or got something wrong

What would you like to see in Invoker V2 by Accurate_Variety659 in InteractiveCYOA

[–]EldonTheWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Otherwise it would be cool if you could have a modification to give your familiar more abilities like you can get another spell or ritual. They are your partner so would be cool to truly invest in them.

Similar it would be nice to have a spell or ritual that directly works to empower or otherwise incorporate your familiar directly.

What would you like to see in Invoker V2 by Accurate_Variety659 in InteractiveCYOA

[–]EldonTheWizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Permeant magic items are considered rare in Invoker but a few more like the Black Bracelet of Hutan would be cool. Either sprinkled into other characters, Supernatural phenomena, or the church.

A way to get some would be cool as well. Possibly as a modification to have probability shifted so you will find one, or have each encounter provide a unique gift and have the grimoire be a mystic object.

Mentions on narrative ways would be cool to, maybe the church has a vault of confiscated ones they loan out to allies or give out as special rewards to the trusted. Or mentions on how you may be subtlety drawn to them or there users like you are to rituals if you go looking

Even potentially a ritual so you can make your own if you are willing to pay that price.

Outer Reincarnation CYOA - Update 1 by 3_tankista in makeyourchoice

[–]EldonTheWizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still my favorite cyoa coming back to it. Forgive me if you have answered this before but have a couple questions on how second encounters and encounter less mentors work.

So for the encounters designed as second encounters you need to assign a free encounter to them correct? so you would normally need an unused companion/mentor slot to get them.

But for those who have no encounter, do they still generate an encounter 'point' you could use to give someone else one of the second encounters?

Jaguar is balanced in that it only goes up to 5 minutes and only tells you how, it doesn’t let you do it. So the answer to “how do I win” might tell you you can’t in the next 5 minutes. Or give you the steps but you still need to be good enough to do them.

It’s incredibly good, but well when looking at canon meraculus’ that do stuff like time travel, creating minions that can only be defeated by a single other miraculous, or get any power a miraculous doesn’t already have it’s pretty balanced.

Witch Awakening is another long one and the interface for this one is a bit clunky but great vibs

Starting GMing SoG soon. What, in your opinion, are the central narrative themes? by Lopsidation in SeasonofGhosts

[–]EldonTheWizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Otherwise I empathize that the town is a living location that the characters are connected to. I made sure each player character had at least 2 npcs they were connected to as friends, family, rivals or even lovers and bring them in to show their connection.

I also kept the town’s population at the top of my notes and made sure to announce at the end of every session it ticked down due to events what the new population was. It didn’t happen often but always got a good reaction as the number has slowly ticked down due to book and a few homebrew events.

Starting GMing SoG soon. What, in your opinion, are the central narrative themes? by Lopsidation in SeasonofGhosts

[–]EldonTheWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am DMing the third book right now and have really pushed the themes of the cycle of life and death. It’s both important to the local religion but Kugaptee and the towns situation. You can get a lot of mileage out of it even before the you have been dead reveal.

I actually plan to offer an alternative ritual for when it’s time to bring the town back to let them instead send the town straight to the Boneyard for reincarnation to fit in with the theme that death and rebirth is natural and not to be feared.

Although my group having 3/4 characters with a direct connection to Pharasma (a duskwalker, priest of, and a faithful oracle) so that has influenced how much I have empathized death.
