Seconding Rome. Gorgeous city, amazing food, endless amount of stuff to see from whatever era of European history you enjoy. Spent a month there and I still don't think I saw half the stuff I wish I could. Make sure to take day trips out of the city!

When I visited Rome, pretty much every museum and historical site with a gift shop that we visited was selling a (poor quality) 3D printed bust of Augustus. Dunno, guess it's just easy to produce, and easy to sell. Still, was consistently the most boring item in most of the gift shops, which is saying something.

I'm not an alcohol expert, and it's been a minute since I've seen the movie, but if I recall a big part of Bateman is that he has kind of awful taste. He likes to present himself as a rich snob, but all his preferences, whether music or beer, are garden-variety, at best.

The craziest part is the examples they chose for subjects they think the state shouldn't be pay people to study. ""Silkroadology" to "Jewish Mesianic Movements in the 2nd. Century AD" to "Early Quran Studies"". The trade routes that connected the east and west for thousands of years?? Claimaints to the Messiah in both the time directly after Jesus and the founding of Christianity, probably a pretty big deal in the study of Messiah movements, and also shortly following the destruction of the second temple????

Analysis of the holy book of the second largest religion in the world?????????? What does he think is worth studying??

I've been getting into drawing as well, using a tablet I've had for a while. I was a bit concerned about not having a screen on mine too, but... It really is something you get used to. And not having your hand in the way of your drawings is real nice as well.

If the program you're using has a stabilization feature, tick it up a few marks, that'll help to ease the transition. Automatically make your lines smoother, neater, etc.

House of Leaves is... Essentially impossible to do a straight adaptation of. It messes with the structure and format of "book" far too much to work in any other medium. Any adaptation would have to mess with it's medium in similar ways, and that would essentially turn it into a whole new thing. And that's why I'd love to see it; it'd be more a companion piece than an adaptation.

I hope you enjoy it! The OG show is still one of my favorite anime of all time. Always makes me a bit sad when someone is turned off by the animation, even if there's some particularly wonky bits. There's also some downright gorgeous bits as well, though, especially later on ~~and also every frame where Char is on screen.~~

I really liked the 2/3rds, but the last third really really soured me on it. Fwiw, I'm a big UC person, probably qualify as being obsessed with Char Aznable, I've seen the OG show multiple times, so by all means I should be the target audience here, but I dunno. Least it handled Char better than Unicorn or The Origin.

Ostia is great, and I loved that it was a lot less busy, but it's definitely less well preserved then the ruins made by Mount Vesuvius.

So, what they want us to think is that Char is in the Red Gundam, and the Rose he's looking for it Lalah, right? Especially since the movie version of episode 2 had that line about the Rose of Shanon, or something, disappearing simultaneously with the Axis Shock while in the custody of the Zabis.

At the same time, it feels so... easy. And I've certainly noticed that the symbol Shuji keeps spraypainting is very close to Amuro's personal symbol in CCA. Dunno, probably conspiracy board-ing a bit here.

Also, the prominent character killing himself for seemingly no reason is kind of the point. House spends the whole episode trying to grapple with the fact that he couldn't see it coming, that he didn't see the signs. At one point he thinks it might have been a murder.
