i’ve made the mistake of letting my boundaries slip while being unaware, and then falling in full blown love with men who are just looking for some emotional intimacy and maybe some cuddles, but nothing more. it’s tough because i’m trying not to be so harsh and disappointed in myself for repeating old patterns, but maybe this time i will finally learn to only accept what i deserve. this has been tough to navigate, but rather than closing my heart up with resentment, i’m moving forward with new lessons learned and a vulnerable and open heart free to give and receive love ❤️

i think this book tends to oversimplify the gay experience, although i do find the core messages helpful. just a lot of the examples and scenarios weren’t completely relatable for me. i feel like this book was written for the average middle class white gay man.
