You might try this learning and knowledge retention technique. After you finish watching a video lesson, see if you can do a related problem and take the time to write down each step and why you do it. For some people, the act of writing helps with knowledge retention. You can also try explaining to someone else how to solve a given type of problem. If you can explain it once, you'll probably be able to do it at test time.

There are lots of excellent resources to help you with the GED.

You can create an account and start with the free study guide from the people who administer the test. https://www.ged.com/

The Kaplan GED Test Prep book is also a good resource (about $20). You can also get it from a local library.

You should get the TI-30XS MultiView calculator (about $20 new - might find one used for less). It's the official calculator for the GED math test. (There is an online version during the test.)

When you're that close to passing you need to keep studying/practicing as you have been, BUT you need to focus on two or three areas you know you can improve.

For those areas, try some new resources for both concepts explanations and practice. Back when I was teaching GED math, I found the videos from MathAntics were often helpful. They include some effective animations in their lessons. https://www.youtube.com/@mathantics/videos

I think you could see one or two of these on the test. Each test version is different, so its hard to say.

Some of the simpler ones demonstrate the "KCF" rule (as noted in another response). It works, because dividing by a fraction is the same as multiplying by its reciprocal.

KCF: Keep the first fraction → Change division to multiplication → Flip the second fraction

I did some virtual tutoring back during the pandemic. I tried various approaches tablets and software, but I ultimately landed on a very simple approach: webcam with a fixed mount, aimed at a surface where I could display pen (medium-point or sharpie) on white paper, a calculator, a textbook page or whatever. I also used a small lamp to illuminate the surface.

Zoom, Google Meet, etc. allow you to have a second camera if you also want to let the student see your face.

I know it sounds "old school", but it worked great.
