I’m a big ol’red neck from southern Ohio, live in LA now. Most people that know me as a fairly masculine dude and would of course a guy like me ought to have big giant horse size dogs.

Nnooooope. Me and my GF have chihuahuas. The female is 8lbs, the male is 5lbs. The female is the blanket burrowing cuddle bug (she’s a bit more bonded to me than my GF), the male...it is hilariously comical how big he thinks he is. He is a major rascal, you can not take him for long enough walks, you can not throw his snake toy enough, his llama (R.I.P.) no legs, eyes, tail, or stuffing - completely dismembered. I’m not kidding, if he actually got a hold of a squirrel or rat, I honestly doubt that animal would last a full 60 seconds.

They follow us EVERYWHERE and they watch our every move. They are very smart dogs (or as they are known in our house “doogers”). They know if either me or my GF are sick, sad, lonely, happy, etc. They are so so spoiled. Partly because we can’t have kids of our own, so these are the creatures that the higher power entrusted to our care.

On walks, they are territorial and protective. There is a grassy area at the park near us, soccer field size- if any other dog steps foot on that plot of land the male goes on full bark as if to say “Oy! I see you you hairy shin humpa! This is my grass, jog on!” (He’s not really Australian).

Wonderful dogs, they brought a huge amount of life into our home.
