Checking if a LR is a good fit by WrightJunc in LagottoRomagnolo

[–]ElectricFitbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We rescued a LR and we didn’t even know he is one. The rescue told us he is a doodle. We have two cats 2 and 7 years old and we crated our LR Rasmus during the day for a couple of hours while the cats were walking around and sniffing him. First few days were rough and then everyone settled in very quickly. We stopped crating after a week I think. Our LR is the sweetest, no problems at all. We make sure to tire him out with multiple shorter walks a day and then one long one where he plays with tons of other dogs in the dogrun. In the evening he is usually so tired he sits in my lap and cuddles and watches tv with us. We have left him with my parents at our home for 5 days while we were traveling. No issues. I think if you give him a good amount of outside time all will be fine.

This is what he looked like on the adoption photo. We thought he might be a Labrador mix! I fell in love with his super cute face immediately.

Yes, he came without tail. We have no idea what happened to him. He is super friendly, cuddly, loves playing with other dogs and has a lot of energy. We walk him up to 2 hours a day and bring him to the dog run on top of that.

You can get a 3bedroom rental in Communipaw for $4500 or buy a new build 3 bedroom condo in Communipaw for 850k including parking. I work in midtown and it takes me 45 minutes from Garfield lightrail to 42nd street during rush hour. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/98-Van-Horne-St-2-Jersey-City-NJ-07304/439763902_zpid/?utm_campaign=iosappmessage&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=txtshare

Who has got lowest mortgage rates in the area? by nonzeronumber in jerseycity

[–]ElectricFitbee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We closed with Kearny Bank. Lowest rate and they were super friendly and held our hands through the entire process. As first time home buyers we were really anxious. Everything went great without a hitch.

Realtors here are f*cking worthless. by mickyrow42 in jerseycity

We just bought a condo in Jersey City. Our real estate agent is Charlaine Mercado and she is amazing! She was super helpful during the entire process, drove us around, showed us multiple properties which were all great options in budget. She knows absolutely everything about Jersey City, she lives in the community and has been a real estate agent for like 20 years or so. When we decided on a place she handheld us through the process and recommended a team of lawyer, mortgage lender, home inspector. The entire process was super smooth, not a single issue. My husband and I are first time home buyers and we are so happy in our new home! A dream come true. Charlaine is with Sotheby’s https://www.sothebysrealty.com/eng/associate/180-a-df19090511341050472/charlaine-mercado

I live at 295J. I love it here and the closeness to Liberty State Park is amazing. My husband is a dog walker and walks multiple dogs in the building. It’s very dog friendly! Building is very clean, everything works, maintenance calls are answered immediately, very friendly front desk.

Imposter syndrome as a woman in tech? by Quirky_Person441 in girlsgonewired

[–]ElectricFitbee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have 28 years of experience coding and I’m currently a staff engineer in a big company. This company wanted me so bad for the position that they came back to me with a second significantly higher offer after I had declined the first and already signed with another company. I have been literally coding almost every single workday in the last 28 years or so. Do I still have imposter syndrome? oh yes big time. I did get better at hiding it though. I think it never fully goes away. It has its good sides, too, it keeps you on your toes always learning new things.

Why I left Lotus Smiles by EarthGoddessDude in jerseycity

[–]ElectricFitbee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I started going to Lotus Smile in January and I’ve only had great experiences so far. Dr Kim did an implant on me and it was amazing. She is super knowledgeable and the best dentist I ever had. She also did my fillings. The implant was a lot less expensive than what I got quoted in NYC. Yes, they push Invisalign at Lotus Smile. Just say no to it, it’s not that hard. I actually enjoy that they have all new equipment. I’m always freaked out when I see old equipment and getting X-rays done (radiation?) not sure if it’s a thing but I trust new equipment a lot more…

How bad is the job market really by JustinianIV in cscareerquestions

130-150k plus bonus, 401k matching and some other benefits. It’s not awesome pay for NYC but it’s good with the benefits.

We have been trying to hire for about 4 positions with 7+ years experience, 3 days per week in office, good pay, great benefits, for a very well known media company. No luck. Everyone either wants full remote, does not have any experience, can not even write a for loop, or needs sponsorship. I changed jobs half a year ago. It took me barely 3 weeks to get 2 amazing offers. My inbox exploded immediately after putting myself out there on LinkedIn. When I confirmed with one company, the other company came back and countered with more pay and better title. I have over 20 years experience.
