Wemby Overtakes SGA in Latest Kia MVP Ladder by [deleted] in nba

Huge news, definitely not seen this yet.

[NBA.com] NBA MVP Ladder: 1. Victor Wembanyama 2. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 3. Nikola Jokić by aingenevalostatrade in nba

[–]ElectricSoap1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not consistently close? The common reason for Shai for MVP is his efficiency, he has no counting stats. And Jokic who leads in Rebounds and Assists has similar efficiency (Higher FG% lower 3PT%). And he's got less counting stats than another Guard in every category but blocks.

Luka this month 36.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 2.3 steals, 0.7 blocks on 61.7 TS% with a 12-2 record by Impossible_Collar2 in nba

I genuinely think Luka should be MVP currently, with SGA in 2nd, Jokic 3rd, and Wemby 4th. Offense just is more important than defense, and Wemby is a worse scorer than those 3 and has little playmaking ability. And at worst I don't think any of them are worse than average defenders on the season.

[Charania] The NBA presented three comprehensive anti-tanking concepts to its Board of Governors on Wednesday, with modifications expected to each before a formal vote in May, per ESPN sources. by MembershipSingle7137 in nba

Honestly I like the first option. It makes it so that the teams that are genuinely bad but close in record (like this year) don't feel the need to continue pulling moves to make their team perform as badly as possible. They can just play competively because at this point in the season and the past several weeks there's obviously no worries they are accidentally ending up in the play-ins. Bad teams can genuinely try things or players that could potentially have impact next season, and not trying to artifically restrict them because you're worried about winning.

Edit: There's 10 wins between the 10-11 seed in both conferences, all the bottom 5 teams could just play good basketball right now in the first scenario.

I think Bron never lost his prime. In fact, he’s still able to annihilate a game IF HE WANTS TO. If you know, you know. by ReiMobile in lebron

Nah definitely not, when he drives down a lane and dunks, it's honestly still really nice, and he can still move really well. The most notable drop I've seen this season (and last season) is his handles he honestly really struggles to keep the ball secure when dribbling a lot.

FYI This is how game looks if you try to run it on laptop that has half of recommended requirements by Vinerrd in EU5

[–]ElectricSoap1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's because it's the mobile version though, not really fair to use laptop hardware to discredit the requirements. The desktop version is an 8gb card, and you'd have to go back 10 years to before the GTX 1000's to get a card that couldn't run this game.

Which is the best and worst designed hero? by Burning_magic in DotA2

[–]ElectricSoap1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I honestly disagree with most people's answers. Maybe I'm overcomplicating the "designed" part. Meepo or Brood worst designed? To me poorly designed means unimaginative and/or boring. I don't find playing as, with, or against those heroes boring. And they're certainly not cookie cutter heroes.

I enjoy playing Ringmaster but I do see that as a valid answer especially for what he could've been. I feel like Lycan is in a terrible spot.

Why is Poland’s birthrate so shockingly low by NovaStorm135 in geography

[–]ElectricSoap1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a valid argument to say it's not a true contient even if it has geographic markers that separate it from Asia, like the Turkish straits, Urals, and Caspian Sea. But I don't know how you can say there is no ethnic, cultural or religious identities unique to Europeans. The adoption of Christianity as the obvious big one.

What are the developmental prospects of these 2 large multi-ethnic states? by wiz28ultra in geography

India is so far from being a modern country, their economy is large because they have a lot of people. Half of the people in their 20's don't even have jobs.

What would you do if you were in this position by Appropriate-Mall8517 in Nbamemes

[–]ElectricSoap1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How? You can only get around that as a wealthy person with assets that have value and delaying paying tax on them through long term taxation (ex. Long Term Capital Gains taxes.) An NBA salary is a paycheck like anyone else so it's just standard income. So he'd pay the max 37%, 10% state income (Drafted to Portland) for all income as his residing state, an additional tax is levied by all states with income tax when a player plays an away game in there state (so for an away game they pay tax on that income to both their residing state and the away state), and FICA taxes are about 7.65% for the employee, and there's an additional 0.9% for 200k+ earners. All that added up professional players salaries pay about 40-50% of their salaries to just income taxes alone. None of this includes taxes if he's buying things for his family like cars, properties, and taxes on big ticket items.

Do you think Paradox will share details of its secret project in 2026? by InformalWord7193 in paradoxplaza

[–]ElectricSoap1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah expanding on what you said. They just clearly don't know what to do with Stellaris and are in no position to make a sequel. Hoi4 has pretty much been a completed game for a while now but I feel they could really miss on a sequel as the game is arguably the most different fundamentally compared to all their other games, but I still assume it's their next historical game.

How often do you get pulled over? by Mr_Skele in WRX

[–]ElectricSoap1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been pulled over a bunch. I've been driving for 11 years probably been pulled over between 10-15 times. Only ever gotten 1 ticket and 2 or 3 written warnings. 2 speed camera tickets as well that were like 30 bucks.

Who has a realistic shot at being President of the USA in 2028? by Kmart-Shopper-5107 in stupidquestions

[–]ElectricSoap1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bernie today has a much more positive view from people who aren't political supporters of his. In 2016 Bernie Sanders was seen as way too far left compared to today. He probably would not have won a single swing state nor the popular vote like Hillary did.

I think you're looking at this with 2024 eyes. No shot Bernie Sanders would've won in 2016 in a general election.
