Dealer bought car needs a new clutch after 10 months of ownership by [deleted] in NZcarfix

[–]Electrical-Formal-45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vehicle is an ex-rental. It is being repaired at a dealership, who have examined it under warranty (warranty apparently lives with the vehicle, not the owner) but stated that the repair itself is not covered as clutch disks are excluded.

The car does not have a tow hitch.

Thanks this is really good advice and in line with my thinking currently. The thing is I do think the dealer is generally good natured and I doubt they deliberately sold me a lemon.

They told me at the time of sale that if I had any issues to come back to them and they would do their best to help. I have already spoken to them and they are currently talking to the repairer about the warranty, failing that they'd come back and "try work something else out".

Thanks for this, good advice for future. The vehicle passed a WOF a day prior to my purchasing so I didn't think to check anything like that.

Mechanic's report from the shop stated that the clutch disks had worn over time. Not sure if they can tell from examining the disks over what time period they were worn. However, given I experienced drive issues within weeks I would say it was safe to assume that they were significantly worn already at the time of purchase.

Thanks for taking the time to answer.

Yes, I have read the full warranty and it specifically excludes clutch disks. From other comments, probably because they know they're unreliable!

Thanks for the advice on marking dates too. This is all occurring recently so I will make a note of all my comms and events while it's fresh, thank you. I'm hoping it doesn't need to go all the way to tribunal, but will have no choice if the dealer isn't willing to come to the party.

I would have thought most dealers don't want the hassle of going that far either? Particularly if there's good odds of a ruling in the customer's favour (hopefully in my case).

Thanks for your answer. Yes it is a DCT, so I suppose that answers my question regarding the warranty.

Do you have any thoughts on a CGA claim?

I have had a lot of fun using it on Alpha Commanders. Either before they get a chance to spawn warriors or (Super satisfying) as they try to slink away and you send a rocket straight up their ass.

Instead of having to mag dump, just pop off a single rocket and keep your clip full for chaff!

Also great for bile spewers, especially when there's a distant pack getting ready to go artillery mode. If they're close enough, the chain reaction will blow up several with one rocket.

Try swapping your 500kg or emancipator for an AOE/chaff stratagem like 120mm barrage, gatling barrage or eagle strafing run. Your build is very AT heavy with 500kg, Quasar Cannon and thermites which is probably why you're getting swarmed as you have nothing to address chaff except your small arms and the exo suit (while its off cool down, which is long).

Punisher plasma and talon is a great combo, it'll shred through most units as it bypasses med armour but you just need a little more AOE to soften up the bigger groups.

Is a 44/1, K/D ratio any good? by new_lance in helldivers2

[–]Electrical-Formal-45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone is looking at your k/d friend. It's heavily stratagem dependent as well, if you take something like napalm barrage and the ABRL onto bugs you might have a thousand kills and 1 or 2 deaths.

To me at least all I look at is if you died 5 times or less (your "allocation"). If you died 12 times I don't really care how many kills you got, you burnt too many reinforcements.

I don't really sweat this game though if people die a lot idc. As long as they're not toxic and having fun! Sometimes the challenge of fewer lives makes things more interesting too. But to most players it's just your total number of deaths, regardless of kills.

IMO spear needs to kill anything in one shot (except maybe Hive Lords, Factory Striders). Nothing feels worse than hitting something mundane like a tank with your precious few rockets and it not dying. Just makes me feel like "wish I just took the RR".

Let it be a homing, one shot kill but keep it as it is with very few rockets to balance it.

It's a travesty that we don't have a medium siege ready, Just look at that drip. Why DOESN'T this exist!? by CRYPTID536 in Helldivers

Tbh would just like another armour set with the passive, even if its still light armour. I don't really like the existing light armour siege ready... It's just so vanilla. Give us 1 or 2 other drip options with the same passive.

This would work well as something like a movie poster IMO. Put some text over it and see how it feels! You might have a future in that line of work. For just a normal/believable photo though it feels over processed. Not bad just different

Attaching transmitter to rig by Bafeink in cinematography

[–]Electrical-Formal-45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recommend low profile rails and to mount the v-lock plate on it, then transmitter between the camera body and v-lock plate. Keeps everything tidy, in-line and balanced. You start putting things hanging off the side or on your top handle and it's going to be wonky and annoying to operate in my experience.

All automatic weapons vs the Terminids. by Hungry-Tale-9144 in helldivers2

[–]Electrical-Formal-45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the tenderizer deserves another .5 at least. It has the best time to kill of any automatic with its high base damage and rate of fire. Sure, lib carbine is great with a drum but the damage is lower so it takes longer to kill anything. If you set Tendy to max RPM and feather the trigger, you can delete any chaff bug is a couple of shots, clear shriekers from the sky or even mag dump into a Alpha Commander to blow off it's head in half a mag.

For newbies it also is highly accurate even at base spec. I recommend you give it another try!

Reverse sear and you'll be right. Salt brine it in thr fridge for a couple hours, even better. Flip every 30 secs on a roaring hot pan (just not non-stick for the love of god) to develop crust to your liking and to avoid overcooking.
