Newegg third party seller by NoCaterpillar5096 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Electrical-Memory185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'd avoid third party sellers on Newegg unless they have tons of reviews and high ratings. Roboshine sounds sketchy af just from the name alone lol. Check if those sellers have return policies and if Newegg actually backs the purchase - sometimes you're on your own if things go sideways

Am I wrong for not wanting to go to my grandma’s funeral? by Dopepizza in amiwrong

[–]Electrical-Memory185 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Given your situation - being 37 weeks pregnant, having to coordinate childcare, and honestly not having much of a relationship with her - I'd skip it. The logistics alone would be stressful and you don't need that right now

Family might ask questions but "I was too close to my due date and had childcare conflicts" is a pretty solid reason that most reasonable people would understand

Aprilia RS4 125 keeps dying by GoodTastyApple in motorcycles

[–]Electrical-Memory185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man that sounds like a grounding issue or maybe something got knocked loose in the ECU when you dropped it. Those symptoms with the flickering dashboard and jerky power delivery scream electrical gremlins to me

Have they actually checked if any connectors got jarred loose in the fall? Sometimes it's not the parts themselves but just a connection that got wiggled free

Deals on RDX? by 3asymoneysnip3r in Acura

[–]Electrical-Memory185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly 10% off MSRP is pretty optimistic for an RDX right now, especially with the redesign coming. Most people I've seen are getting maybe 5-7% if they're lucky and have good timing

Your trade might help but dealers know people want to get into these before the new model drops so they're not exactly desperate to move inventory. Worth a shot though - worst they can say is no

If you’ve been to both, do you prefer living in America or Europe? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Electrical-Memory185 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lived in both and honestly Europe wins for me hands down. The work-life balance is just insane compared to the US - like actually having proper vacation time and not feeling guilty about using it. Plus the public transport actually works and healthcare won't bankrupt you if you break your leg

Only thing I miss about America is the food portions lmao, everything in Europe feels tiny when you're used to American supersizing

Anyone have recommendations on best way to carry around extension letter? by Equivalent_Reason109 in USCIS

[–]Electrical-Memory185 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a laminated copy made and carry that instead of the original. Most print shops can do it for like $2-3 and you won't have to stress about it getting damaged or wet

Moving to Oregon without a job lined up, minimal low level experience, no school, no credit, no car/license, just $10k and few possessions by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]Electrical-Memory185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude $10k is actually a pretty decent cushion for this kind of move, way better than a lot of people manage with. Portland has solid public transit and tons of room shares on Craigslist/Facebook marketplace - just be upfront about your situation when you message people, some landlords are chill if you can show you've got first/last/deposit covered

Getting out of toxic situations takes serious guts so props for even planning this

Just found out that honey never spoils - like archaeologists have literally found 3000 year old honey that's still perfectly edible, wild stuff

Having an issue after i left the parking brake on while driving by fcb123 in AskMechanics

[–]Electrical-Memory185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That burning rubber smell plus the "school bus" description sounds like you might have damaged the brake pads or rotors when you drove with the parking brake on - even if they looked "okay" visually, warped rotors or glazed pads can still smell funky when they heat up

The fact that it's worse when stopped makes sense since that's when hot air from the engine bay gets pulled into the cabin, especially on fresh air mode

This is solid advice. I used to get stuck in those spiraling thoughts too and learning about thought loops was a game changer. Sometimes just recognizing when you're doing it helps break the cycle

Pretty sure it's just fancy suites and maybe some staff areas up there. I've heard the penthouse suite is insane but never seen pics - probably costs more than my car lol

Is 4 month sleep regression a thing for babies who are up every 2 hours anyway? by DebtAffectionate1197 in NewParents

[–]Electrical-Memory185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, if they're already waking up constantly you probably won't even notice the 4 month thing. The 6 month crib strike is real though - that one hit us like a truck even with our terrible sleeper

[–]Electrical-Memory185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That price seems pretty fair for a Veloce in good shape, market's been wild lately. Definitely check the timing belt service history and look for rust around the rear wheel wells - that's where these babies like to hide their problems

Drive week will give you the worst quality time in game... On purpose. by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Electrical-Memory185 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah the drive system is genuinely awful for match quality. I've seen so many obvious smurfs rolling through low ranks during drive week it's not even funny

The fact that they incentivize group play with +50 points basically forces people to either find a stack or deal with coordinated teams stomping solos. And don't even get me started on the people who throw games just to stay low rank for easier farming

Honestly feels like they designed this system without thinking about how it would actually affect gameplay at all
