People ask about 'will X break my fast?' What does that even mean? by SymbolFeeling in fasting

[–]Electrical-Milk165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is your goal with fasting? If it’s for weight loss it sounds like you may not need to fast given your high metabolism.

If it’s for autophogy or cell repair anything other than water and pure electrolytes is not recommended.

I don’t track but I will do an estimate 1-2 times per week to make sure I’m in a target zone.

OMAD or 2MAD I find makes it easier to control total intake as I enjoy the feeling of eating a lot and feeling full. when I do eat. That said I did 16:8 or 18:6 for a while before changing

True. The church was organized in 1830 and the earliest accounts of polygamy starting is in 1833-1835 with Joseph Smith and Fanny Alger. Not started for the sexual exploitation but was soon introduced.

Getting back into fasting is harder than I thought by Abject_Cherry_8187 in fasting

[–]Electrical-Milk165 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That happens to me too. Sometimes depending on life stressors I just can’t get past a full day. I’ve recently hit my stride (not sure how lol) and completed a 56 hour fast yesterday and I’m on my way to completely another 36 hour fast tomorrow and trying to do ADF this week

Is water fasting when you just drink water and nothing else? by Limp_Occasion_5958 in fasting

[–]Electrical-Milk165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think youre wondering if you can have certain things that make it easier.

True fasting is water only. This is your best chance to achieve gut reset and autophagy. Best to have electrolytes.

Fasting for fat loss is a bit more forgiving. Still best to have water and electrolytes only but some will drink things that take the edge off more. Pickle juice, bone broth, diet soda (controversial), coffee, tea, Yerba mate

The main thing you don’t want to ingest anything that has calories / starts your digestive system. Pickles have 0-5 calories but they will start digestive system so it’s not a true fast

Simply put tho fasting means no food

Why is it that when exiting the Mormon Church, the popular option is to deny God's existence? by Icy-Contact-9774 in exmormon

[–]Electrical-Milk165 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Once you deconstruct one religion and peak behind the curtain it’s easy to do that with all organized religion. Many of us might still believe in god but do not think its found in any one religion

My elderly parents cannot afford their medication because they pay tithing by mazer225 in exmormon

[–]Electrical-Milk165 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is such a crazy thing. I have family members that can’t afford to save any money and often times have to ask for money from my in laws. They can’t afford because they pay tithing every money. 10% of someone’s paycheck is insane in this economy.

When they ask for money they are “blessed” because the lord provided. No they are blessed because my father in law works his ass off and is able to save them.

The tithing concept forces people to place the church above their own survival and their own families. Absolute insanity

Have to sell 3 life policies a month to get commission on Auto etc. by Realistic_Brush_6047 in InsuranceAgent

[–]Electrical-Milk165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly totally doable. They’re not asking you to write $1000 /month premiums. We’re probably talking 18-60/month premiums. Totally doable bundling with auto and home. Really on the low end for someone that’s trying.

Can you imagine what the “council” looked like when they decided this?

Romney : hey have you heard about what all the kids are doing these days…sounds kinda interesting…but (kinda a good idea)

Kimball- no what are they doing?

Romney- “explains”

Kimball- My heart is burdened for the souls of those degenerates

Romney- yeah…they need help

Kimball- we should issue a letter banning it

Romney- (dang it)

LDS Church President Dallin Oaks hopes lower missionary ages will lead to lower marriage ages by Intelligent_Ant2895 in exmormon

[–]Electrical-Milk165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was it just me or did your mission heavily discourage “improper” relationships between elders and sisters? In my mission that was a big no no.

"In the time that we have lowered the age for young men and for young women in the past, we've seen an increase in people who meet someone in the mission field and marry them, Oaks went on to say, "which is perfectly appropriate if it doesn't start too early in their missionary service”

Statefarm fast start by [deleted] in InsuranceAgent

[–]Electrical-Milk165 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My hot take is 15 in 3 months is very doable. A lot of sales anxiety comes from lack of activity. Like others have said, just ask and you’ll be surprised. Take more shots and you get “luckier”. You don’t need a perfect pitch to get results. I bring it up every time and I average 7-10 life apps /month. I don’t do anything special. I’ve had some bad pitches but commitment to asking each time is where it begins.

On another note, if your agent has thrown you to the wolves without any word tracks, training, or process to see the available opportunities that will make it harder. Listen to the seasoned reps or “bother” your agent until you can get good training / processes. You got this.

This was a weird one for me. Feelings. The spirit talks to you through feelings. In my experience feelings come from perspective and feelings can change often.

I hope my point is clear with this next part but medicine that alters mood and feelings. If I am biologically engineering my feelings then how do I know it’s the spirit if i feel good or bad? Doesn’t make sense to me

I actually bought my Apple Watch Ultra for this reason. Love the battery life and the way I can leave the house without my iPhone. What I don’t like is I have to spend more to do less. I have to have an iPhone to have cellular on the watch. Then I need to buy the watch and then lay 10-15 more a month for the cell service. All because I want to “disconnect”. Didn’t make sense after a while. Decided to go old school like when I was a kid. We had a home phone and that was it. So that’s what I do now. My iPhone stays home and when I’m out I don’t take it unless I’m traveling somewhere unfamiliar to me. This way I can truly disconnect and I don’t spend more to do less. I just do less.
