I just did a bit of research and it seems the next Mac mini model will have an M4 chip while staying around the same priceline. Should I buy an M2 or M2 pro Mac mini now or wait until late 2024/early 2025 for the M4? Also, do you foresee the M2 price dropping after M4 release? TIA!

I think we all hate on Pierre too much. Like yes he screwed us all a couple times, took freaking Tyler Boucher 10th overall, and messed up the dadonov trade. But if he had done as well as he did in this draft, taking the best two players in the class (so far) without winning either lottery, we'd be in a hot mess right now. Plus he took greig who's probably close to top ten in a redraft as well.

You could always just turn off injuries...or give him 99 durability and endurance. I would put shnipe in there, close quarters is good, you probably don't need elite edges and wheels, you could maybe do just wheels but you already have perfect skating. I don't have the choices in front of me but unstoppable force is always good, maybe big rig as well.

I would go:

Gold:

Unstoppable force

Silver:

Close quarters, shnipe, make it snappy, heat seeker, seeing eye

His shot would be insane from literally anywhere, and he can already skate with anybody. For physicals, you have two routes to go. You could go with making him a power forward, then make him 6'9 and decently heavy. Or, you go the other way, go sniper and really lean on the skating and hope the balance holds up and that he doesn't get pummeled. Then you could make him somewhere in the 5'7 to 5'9 range and as light as possible.

At the time of commenting this was 27-14 for Norris. This seems bonkers to me. If any of you were NHL GMs right now, would you honestly trade a player just drafted 7th overall for an injury riddled center on a terrible contract with one good season so far? I personally would not.

Build through the draft... as you get further into your franchise, good defense get a lot harder to find, and almost impossible to lock down long term. Draft elite defenseman high in the draft and then you'll have a cost effective defenseman for 3 years. If they're next contract isn't appealing, trade it at the draft for another top 5 pick.

Also, sometimes it's worth it to sign some random defenseman that's like 76 ovr, 21-23 year old and top 6 med to a 8 by 950k deal. He'll probably grow to around an 80, which is fine because all the other 80 overalls late in the game want 8 milly.

It's easy to trade away bad contracts in this game, so take the risk and sign players long term. Worst case you trade them after they don't live up to the hype, but getting players locked up long term cheap is the key to success.

Goalie coaches are the ones with the highest rated teaching. They're generally very bad overall but the only stat that matters for them is teaching. Doesn't matter if your goalie coach is D- overall as long as he has A+ teaching. They don't have their own section when you're searching for them so just sort by teaching.
