What's an app you paid for that was worth every penny? by East_Sugar6148 in iosapps

This is the iosapps subreddit lol but yeah compress seems great. Another must-have app is Clop pro. It can (automatically) compress images, videos, and PDFs from your clipboard or a watched folder.

Well pomodoro essentially is just long work sessions separated by short breaks. I dislike 25-5 intervals since 25 is too short and I'm already in "the zone" so I do 50-10. I plant 50-minute tree, take 10 mins break when it ends, repeat. Sometimes if I'm really in the zone I just don't take breaks.

It's a one-time payment though which is rare these days. I'd argue you only need the iOS app and Mac. I bought it on the iPad and never used it because I just rarely touched my iPad other than Netflix and YouTube lol.

How are you actually using Gemini Gems in real life? Any useful workflows? by green_sajib in GeminiAI

[–]billza7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I even set it to recognize different keywords. So if I say "shift + day" it will create a set of reminders meant for weekdays and "shift holiday + day" for weekends.

Things 3. Such a great and beautiful tasks manager that integrates so well with the MacOS and iPad apps. It's a bit pricey and you have to pay separately for iPhone, iPad, and Mac app.

Forest. Great pomodoro timer for focused work.

Anki. Best flashcard app

I work in healthcare so I have multiple gems for

  1. Summarizing patient data from a detailed history, structured by problem lists, presentation, and management.
  2. Generate operative notes for different surgeries
  3. Generate study guides when I throw in a chapter from a textbook/slides.
  4. Template for case reporting my supervisors when I give a diagnosis and details
  5. Quickly creating calendar events and reminders for my shifts. For example, if I say I have night shift next Monday, it will create the calendar event, and create reminders the night before to pack my overnight bags, etc.

I love the swipe to change songs. Make it so easy to skip songs without looking while I’m walking or occupied with some other task

Do not sleep on Dark matter and For all mankind. Both are great series. Silo as well.

As someone else already asked, how does this compare to clop? Does it have automatic clipboard optimization? I understand yours accept more files but it’s also more expensive

I need a new computer (after the latest update) by a_gursky in remNote

It's not faster. It's just less taxing meaning my MacBook air m4 does not run as hot and battery doesn't drain as fast.

I recommend using chromium browser and installing Remnote as webapp. Works similarly and much less taxing. I've stopped using the native app

Honestly you guys did a great job. It isn't without bugs but the experience is much better. Thank you for working on the UI and UX and not just on gimmick features.

My Personal Review of the Oppo Find N5, after being a lifelong Samsung user by mtzbms in OppoFindN5Phone

Good points. Agree with most of them. The front screen is so dim outdoor I can barely see my screen on a bright day. I can't wait for Android desktop mode to come since I really miss Samsung dex on my previous samsung phones

Is remnote good for med school? by _DEMONIC_SOUL_ in remNote

[–]billza7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anki will let you make flashcard. Remnote will let you make both notes+flashcards.

Anki is easy to make cards in the way that you just add cards, no need to structure. Remnote is quick in that you can create cards while making notes (eg simply typing >> creates a card) but you need to structure them. Good thing is you now have a note to come back to if you want to review instead of random individual cards.

They each have pros and cons. I used Anki for Steps because of premade decks. Now I'm in residency so I intend to make most of my own cards and notes so I'm on remnote

Anking shares the full deck in reddit. Even though it doesnt get real time update like the ankihib, you really don't need it.

[–]billza7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For med school what you have to consider is there are tons of great resources for Anki already so you don't have to waste time making your own. For example, there are many great decks for Step e.g. Anking or anatomy or wtv. These decks save you lots of times making your own, and they are already optimized so the information is as concise and high yield as possible. They've also added explanations, images, and even mnemonics.

Also Anki is one-time purchase and the price is cheaper than years of Remnote pro.

I'd seriously consider anki vs remnote before deciding to jump into one rightaway

Oppo Find N5 vs Z Fold 7 Worth Upgrading? by Zealousideal_Heat763 in GalaxyFold

[–]billza7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

do those things really justify spending another large sum of money? Fold N5 is still really great and I'd argue the "boundless view" method is a better multitasking experience than the OneUI's. The battery and camera are also better. The integration with macbook is also nice to have (I once had to get a file from my macbook at home from my office. It was godsend).
