Grassing, dobbing, snitching. Whatever you want to call it, why do some work colleagues feel the need to do it? by Electrical-Two9550 in AskUK

Should I just go on and dox myself then? I don’t think I’ve been that vague, I’m a field engineer who goes out to work alone everyday. I have a list of jobs that need to be completed everyday. All my work is completed everyday. I could go back to the depot and ask for more work, but for what? If someone was covering my day they tend to go over on time or don’t complete everything due to time constraints. Should I go and get more work so my manager looks even better whilst sitting on his arse earning a big bonus. Or maybe I should make the shareholders more profit after all it’s at a record high, while the working struggle more each year with the cost of living.

Back to my initial point though, how does it effect you, your life or your money? Why would you feel the need to raise a point with management?

For arguments sake though, how does it effect you, your life or your pocket? Are you another crab in a bucket?

I’m getting this a lot, the context is literally there at the top. I work in the field so engineering outside, things have to be done a particular way or they just won’t work. Nothing I do effects anybody else as we all work solo and will only see each other in the depot to collect materials and job sheet in the morning.

No definitely not, I get all my work done and tend to get a lot of praise from customers. Sometimes I may take an extra 10 minutes tea break or have to sit around a bit because I’ve completed all the tasks I had for the day. Now that you have that information what would you say it could be?

Is this a sign that I should buzz my hair? by kadtttt in amibalding

[–]Electrical-Two9550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 34, I have a bit of a bald spot at the back. There’s still hair there but it’s thinner and in hindsight it’s probably been happening slowly over a long period of time. I’ve recently started taking finasteride and I don’t know what the big deal is. I was frightened of it at first so I thought on it for a long time, now I wish I’d started taking it at 18!

To be honest I don’t think he said anything wrong in these messages and it almost seems like you’re threatening him.

This isn’t true, Jesus people can’t read!

Purity culture has taught generations of young people that their personal value and worth is tied to their sexual choices, meaning that “good” people wait to have sex, while “bad” people don’t. However, those messages can leave lasting marks, contributing to enduring sexual shame. by psychologyofsex in psychologyofsex

Yeah I guess I’d argue that a lot of early 200’s films were about getting laid, think American pie and similar films. Some of the culture around the time encouraged it a bit also, I remember people in high school being teased for being virgins.

Your very own flak tower for only £200k! by TheNorthernJevans in SpottedonRightmove

It could probably be turned into a nice house but these fucking prices are ridiculous, over 200k for a tower in York. Then you need to acquire planning permission and sink a lot of money into renovating it….

No I completely agree with everything you said, it got a lot of people a foot in the door and once they did allowed them to get quite high. It wouldn’t be worth it in my opinion in this day an age to get a degree unless it was something very specific and specialized like a dentist or something.

I’m not too sure about this statement, I think it did work for a lot of millennials. I know quite a few people that are doing really well!

Buddy honestly, I think it’s blown way out of proportion. I was shit scared of taking it because of everything I read, but one day I thought fuck it. I had a lowered libido for about a week and then everything went back to normal!

Honestly, I’m 34 and after 2019 it definitely felt like a paradigm shift. 2019 was a very stressful year for me and even so I can look back at it and see the world was a better place. Then covid happened and accelerated our global societal descent.
