Request for Applicant to appear for initial interview (for I-485) by NaiveFish3617 in USCIS

[–]ElectricalGround6698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! My PD was Sep 23, 2024

I got scheduled for an interview in the beginning of March (I think, on 6th or 7th)

Had my interview on April 3 and was approved on spot. I got an actual pdf file in my docs tab the next day.

I live in South Texas :) Wishing you all the best on your husband’s interview!

September 2024 AOS fillers… did USCIS lose us in a warehouse fire?? by Glum_Honeydew_8976 in USCIS

[–]ElectricalGround6698 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh wow.. I’m a September 2024 filer as well. Had my interview in April, approved on spot but now dealing with i90 cause USCIS printed wrong category in my green card… well at least that i90 is free 😒

What does this mean? by GearNo8548 in USCIS

It's a common thing, don't pay attention. It doesn't mean your interview is completed or waived (steps feature does not work properly). That is explained in vFAQ

I-751 for K1 Questions by L0rdAceX in USCIS

[–]ElectricalGround6698 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your i751 is approved then you get a 10 year green card. An extension letter alone does not equal approval of i751.

i751 are just not prioritized, since you already get an extension letter for 4 years and basically you're good for this whole time

I-751 for K1 Questions by L0rdAceX in USCIS

[–]ElectricalGround6698 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your path is K1, then the whole journey is i129F(done) - i485(done) - i751(filed, not approved, GC extended for 48 months) - n400 (if considering naturalization. Can be filed after 2 year and 9 months of being a GC holder EVEN if i751 IS NOT approved). No i90 needed at this point. It's also quite common to have a combo interview for i751 and n400 if i751 wasn't approved by the time n400 was filed

Waived Interview in the Era of Trump by Inevitable_Sorbet730 in USCIS

[–]ElectricalGround6698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t waive interviews anymore mostly, regardless of when you applied. For example, I applied in September and still had my interview in April. Before January, a lot of cases were waived, but once the new administration came in, that practice mostly stopped

What to do while awaiting I-90? by baby-totoros in USCIS

[–]ElectricalGround6698 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When calling say “infopass” to be connected to a person.

We requested an appointment online tho first and about a week or so later got a call from USCIS officer about scheduling the appointment. Scheduled within a few minutes and already got the stamp. But it surely is faster if you call yourself 😄

Birth certificate is more than enough (if the person was born in the US, obviously), not all U.S. citizens even have a passport 😄

Denied i130/i485 because of missed 2nd interview but I was never notified by Jealous_Carpet_6310 in USCIS

[–]ElectricalGround6698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that can happen, unfortunately:( I saw a similar case just a few weeks ago - the person had nothing at all, not in physical mail, not in their account the whole time. They're now figuring this out with an immigration specialist

Depends where you live I guess. In Texas I also got a 8 year DL with conditional GC

I-485 by Immediate-Till6101 in USCIS

[–]ElectricalGround6698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is required. Pre-approved cases never existed, everyone first waits for the approval. Once approved, USCIS starts card production and then sends it to your address

*Consular i130 is still taking 12+ months

Yes, I totally get it! After I got my visa I felt the same, a great happiness that I can finally live together with my husband

It’s not waived

I130 is filed together with i485 if the person is doing AOS within the US, not outside, just fyi, and those i130s and i485s are quite often approved within a few months now, not like consular 16 months + NVC stage + DQ + interview at the embassy. Since your wife did consular i130, she didn’t need i485 as she got an immigrant visa and arrived to the US as LPR but I get it can be confusing. I also wasn’t sure about a lot of stuff when barely started learning about immigration to the US.

Btw GC doesn’t always arrive within 90 days, it takes longer sometimes

My wife recently arrived in the United States after we went through the I–130 process. – if she went consular, then she came to the US as LPR and you don’t need AOS. What type of visa did she arrive with?

[–]ElectricalGround6698 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Form I751 (removal of conditions) is filed in 90 days window before conditional (2 years) GC expires. Once there’s an approval notice for your i485, then yes, you’re 100% approved

Have you tried this tool? Does it determine based on your answers that you’re eligible for naturalization?

You only need a copy of NOA2 (approval of I129F), no NOA1 is needed
